Deepanshu_Saini_ Personally, I think the slider has several functions that can be switched or toggled across different styles using the nothing x app.
Here’s my guess :
Visual metaphor: The “network bar” or signal strength icon is a common visual shorthand for a feature that can be turned on and off and also has varying levels. In the context of headphones, this applies perfectly to ANC, which can be toggled to different strengths
CMF’s “Remix Everything” tagline: This theme of customization extends to sound and features, not just appearance. A user-controlled ANC intensity would fit well with this philosophy.
Separation of controls: The headphones also have a separate scroll wheel for volume. A second distinct physical control points to a different, important feature. A slider for ANC intensity would provide a direct, tactile way to adjust how much of the outside world is filtered out, which is a key selling point for many premium headphones, Something like levels of anc that can be adjusted with just a toggle of the button with it ranging from the strongest to the weakest (Transport <-> Outdoor <-> Indoor)
Precedent in other audio devices : While CMF uses a customizable “Smart Dial” for different modes on its Buds Pro 2, it also offers ANC level adjustment via software. Having a dedicated physical slider for this function on the over-ear headphones would be a more premium, tactile approach, similar to sliders for ANC or ambient sound on some headphones from other brands.
