Works well and stutter free for me, including essential apps, LUTs and pretty much everything else. Noticeably smoother I think but that might be placebo. Would like some more changes such as quick settings widgets having the icon turn red rather than the whole widget, kind of like the swipe down menu.

The music player has become dull after the update,

It hasn’t brightened up since I turned off the extra dark feature in the dark mode settings

So far , all is good except it’s lacking features for now in the 2a plus , I really loved the stretch camera but I really desired more features for the glyphs.. they got ignored this time.. and so far I’ve noticed a small issue which is , when u pull from the side (the arrow shows up) but when u like try wiggle it up and down it goes back in and because of this , the keyboard (gboard) think that it closed itself making my screen full like there isn’t a keyboard , and as for the app optimisation.. it would’ve been better if I could choose which apps to optimize

According to me this was just the worst Os update by NOTHING ever, cux they really did nothing in this which is really disgusting, they just give cool features to their new models like 3a series and Cmf 2 but no such ai features for old 2a series which is really disgusting and disappointing and they wasted our one OS update by giving OS 4.0 actually, really disappointed from you guys.

Hi team, I’d like to share a few suggestions and improvements that could enhance usability, customization, and overall experience on the Nothing Phone (2a Plus). These points focus on UI polish, system features, and performance enhancements.

1. Share Option in App Drawer / Home Screen

Add a share option when long-pressing an app (similar to OnePlus, Realme, etc.).
Enables quick sharing of Play Store links or APKs.

2. Block Internet for Specific Apps

Provide a system-level option to disable Wi-Fi/data per app without third-party tools.

3. Modern Icon Customization

Support additional icon shapes: Squircle, Pebble, Rounded Square, and Circular.

4. Advanced Lockscreen Styles

More clock styles, depth effects, and enhanced media controls.
Subtle fade/swipe animations when unlocking or switching ambient display.
Double tap to turn off the screen directly from the lock screen.

5. Brightness Bar Access

Make brightness slider accessible with a single swipe.

6. Camera App Improvements

Smoother, more responsive UI when swiping between modes (Photos, Portrait, Video).
Fix contrast issue in direct sunlight where photos appear overly contrasty.

Pitch Black in Nothing OS 4.0 beta is a good addition but currently applies only to Settings.
Extend Pitch Black to Control Center and other UI areas.
Make UI elements (buttons, settings menus, control panel tabs like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.) slightly darker to remove the green tint and ensure consistency.

Improve system-wide animations and transitions for a more fluid, polished experience.

Nothing, we were hoping for Nothing’s take on material 3 expressive by pixel , we are highly disappointed ! We waited for this 4.0 but what we got is same old plain bland food without salt !

Santhoshkumar_Pharmacist wdym bad quality? Check ur phone dude , use the new filters to take pictures I went from meh it’s good picture with high quality to woah wth is up with the level of this picture? The Nothing OS 4.0 actually made my camera like 3x better

Kastello good job tho! Screen HDR/gamma issues ARE COMPLETELY GONE! And I noticed that the blue colour delay is gone too

I use Nothing 2A plus, I installed Nothing OS 4.0 , open Beta today. I used my phone for a while after installing it. It looked pretty good except camera because only six consecutive photos are being clicked , then the camera’s capture button no longer works. I either have to wait a while or restart my phone to take a new photo. Kindly fixd it as soon as possible.
