Add Community Wallpapers to Nothing Playground

Hi everyone, my name is Rahil.

With the release of Nothing playground, community members have access to Community made Apps with AI, Community made Glyph Toys, Community made Camera presets and community made Sound EQ options for Nothing audio products.

My honest suggestion is to add another category for Wallpapers.

I made 4 great wallpapers in this year’s community edition project that got rejected that I am willing to contribute to kick-off this category.

Here are the snippets of all 4 of them:

None of these wallpapers are AI generated, they are hand made specifically with careful consideration for Nothing phones.

I am ready to share the hi-res images for download directly for Nothing playground if we can get this category going.

I am sure in time we will see other community members contribute their work as well.

I think this is a brilliant category for those not interested in building AI generated apps and would rather contribute something with more effort and meaning behind it.

The Playground has huge potential as an all-in-one co-creation platform. It could bring together community wallpapers, custom Glyph ringtones, and even software-driven elements like lock screen clocks. If executed well, it could single-handedly surpass what Good Lock currently offers to One Ul users

I believe we should be able to contribute individual wallpapers, connected to a QR code - anyone who scans it with a Nothing phone, instantly downloads it.

I think that makes it more efficient than bundles or wallpaper packs.

Adnan_28 - I agree, it should just open more channels of contribution.

I agree with you, they will have to update in particular the Nothing Wallpaper app for this integration to take place, but it’s definitely doable.

I am not currently on 4.0, (will update when it’s stable) if you can, let me know if the underlying apk conveys any future possibilities of this.

Jerin Jose MunirasuM - Appreciate the love guys, but I want my wallpapers to get embedded into the playground officially, that way it will not be misused or exploited outside of the Nothing community space. I gave away few wallpapers a while back here and they ended up being used by people for their blogs etc. Had to remove the link for that.

I like that idea, but all shared items have to be shared by 2D barcode, so the Launcher software itself would have to be updated to read them (as NOTHING X and the NOTHING Camera app have.) the NOTHING Launcher app already reads bar code for widgets (with they call “apps” anyway).

I can have a look through the APK to see whether they’re considering this.

They have a new panel in the widgets organiser just for their playground-based apps.

RandhirYadav Give it time. I am trying to do something that’s bigger than me. I want a full category on playground for community made wallpapers.

These wallpapers will launch there… whenever that happens. Hopefully, soon enough, if our voices get heard.

I hope we can get a new category on playground for wallpapers so I can upload these individually… let people download and use what they want.

I suspect that sharing wallpapers will likely not be possible because of rights management - as much as generated wallpapers would be acceptable, anything that contained original source material would be covered by copyright and unable to be shared.
