Ok I like the update but the “Lock Glimpse” thing I am REALLY not vibing with. Looks like one of these cheap HyperOS variant, and has honestly no real usecase. At least make it so you choose your own photos instead of the not-so-transparently-selected ones. Otherwise great job, I really like the new icons.

I’ve seen many users posting genuine feature suggestions here, but it feels like developers aren’t really taking them into account. When someone points out that the new Nothing OS 4 update doesn’t bring any useful features, others often reply with “If you want that, go to another brand.” That kind of attitude doesn’t help anyone.

For example, I personally requested a simple but important feature — an easy way to check daily mobile data usage (in quick settings tiles or somewhere easily accessible). In India, most data plans are based on daily limits like 1.5 GB or 2 GB per day, so this would be really helpful.

Instead, we get features like Glimpses that no one really asked for or finds useful. I hope Nothing starts focusing more on community-driven feature requests rather than random additions.

I think the addition of lock glimpse is distasteful at best. It doesnt particularly look great and feels like an odd slippery slope to lockscreen ads. Please reconsider adding this feature. It should be a carousel of your local pictures only or the premade nothing/ai ones, not from a 3rd party service people are barely even finding out about just now.

Shady Nothing with Nothing OS 4 looks like an update, not an upgrade.

The only way to upgrade or downgrade the existing OS is to replace it, so you go from Nothing OS to Lineage OS for example. If you go from Lineage OS to Lineage OS, or iOS to iOS, or Windows to Windows… That’s all an update.

I don’t like the new Lock Glimpse feature, and I believe it’s not a recommended addition for Nothing OS 4.

Here’s why: About three years ago, I had a Redmi 12. My family has been using Xiaomi/Redmi phones since 2013. Back then, they introduced similar “lock screen” features — and that marked the beginning of a poor user experience. Soon after, they started adding ads and unnecessary elements into MIUI, which eventually evolved into HyperOS — an OS that’s bloated and far from user-friendly.

After that disappointment, I made a hard decision to switch brands. I chose the Nothing Phone (3A) because of its clean, minimal, and smooth Nothing OS — the best user experience I’ve had in years. Please don’t repeat Xiaomi’s mistakes.

Today it’s Lock Glimpse; tomorrow it could be another “feature” that takes away what makes Nothing special. Please don’t compromise the simplicity and originality that define your brand. Keep Nothing OS clean, fast, and truly “Nothing.”

We chose Nothing for its purity, not for gimmicks. Don’t make us regret this choice like we once did with Redmi.

Visually, everything looks too spaced out and small, which causes significant strain on my eyes. The display size has reduced. Everything looks zoomed out. I increased the display size, but now everything looks too enlarged.

The lock screen wallpaper sounds like a good premise, but fails to deliver. I imagined it to be Nothing’s version of Unsplash’s Replash or Windows’ spotlight. But it’s just bloatware that’s seen on some Chinese phones. The wallpapers are boring.

I love my Nothing Phone, but its starting to get annoying that I have to install so many apps for functionality and productivity.

Also, with lock screen notification. There are certain apps that I don’t mind viewing sensitive info on the lock screen. Before I had to manually do it. Now, its for all the apps. Please introduce functionality that allows you to hide sensitive notifications for certain app’s. Ex. I don’t have to manually change sensitive info every time I speak to a new person on a messaging app.
