It was found when I updated my Phone (3a) to NOS 4.0, although it was disabled by default, the onboarding for OS 4.0, urged to enable it. Nothing pls go back to the roots, we don't want none of this.

Just out of curiosity, is Microsoft Windows 8.1, 10 and 11 a Chinese OS? Because that identical feature (called Spotlight) exist there for 12 years at this point.

Just updated to Nothing OS 4 Beta (Android 16) and honestly… I’m disappointed.

From the start, I believed Nothing was the only brand after Google that truly cared about giving a clean, minimal, ad-free UI. That unique simplicity was the reason many of us loved Nothing in the first place.

But now with this new lock screen glimpse (which literally shows ads), that trust feels broken. 😔

It completely kills the vibe of what made Nothing special.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m seriously thinking of switching to a custom ROM now — at least I’ll get the peace of mind that my phone is truly mine.

What do you think?

I think that you should read change log and patch notes before updating, so you would know exactly if it’s worth to update or not.

Imagine seeing a clear sign: wet floor

You see it, you fall, you get disappointed because the floor was wet. Apply that to BETA (‼️) updates of any software.

Siemens NX yup.. you’re right…but apps and features need mass feedbacks/reports to get removed… there will be big contract between nothing and glance (or whatever parent company runs it).. they can’t just break that contract… so it will be staying here for long…

I don’t like that feature/app so i will uninstall it… leave a feedback.. and just chill… will not complain here and waste my energy… because this is not a official channel for feedback…

New icons are like ok ok , But Icon for Camera and Gallery should have been much better

ads will be displayed by default , changing them to your pics will b have to be manually done

Ok I actually like the fact that Nothing turns off Glance by default, but they said, Glance will soon show my photos I choose… I really love the concept, but I’m not giving my photos to a company which has a ridiculously bad privacy policy. Nothing themselves can implement the changing picture on the lockscreen feature, Samsung and Apple have done it, why can’t Nothing. That’s my only concern.
