Nothing Gallery AI features removed

Nothing guarantees that they will always provide what users need. Now, my question to Nothing admins is, why did they remove the AI features from Nothing Gallery despite the hardware capabilities? Are these not required by users?

imhasib Afaik they didn’t remove features, the earlier “gallery” was Google Photo’s, they just swapped to their own Gallery, which doesn’t have those features (yet). You can still use Google Photo’s if you need those features.

Use Google Photos its 10 times better. The Nothing Gallery does well Nothing. You can look at your photos that’s about it. I disable the Nothing Gallery….

I know that I still can use the google photos. But my question is, I’m using nothing gallery to see my photos. When I want to edit the photo, there are some basic options: crop, enhance, and filter. But if I want to remove an unwanted object from my photo, I want to edit my portrait blur after taking the photo, I want to erase or add something, even I can’t highlight or mark anything on the photo editing option.
My another question is, is it very expensive to add those features by dfault on the nothing gallery?
I am watching the pictures in Nothing Gallery, and go to Google Photos to edit the pictures…haha.

imhasib yes, it is “expensive” to add those features, it costs time to develop, and some AI features may even not run on the phone, but on cloud-ai, so there is costs there to.

imhasib It’s expensive because you have to pay a cloud service to do it. There are basically no AI models capable of running on a user device quick enough or providing good enough results
