Nothing OS 4.0

Saw many user experience of Nothing OS 4.0 got too many bloatware & ads. Other Chinese Mobile brands are getting cleaner with their OS, but Nothing is going other way around 💔 Why??? 😫

ShaikhMuhammad You are talking about too many ads and bloatware.

Yet in reality the only thing they added is a randomized wallpaper for the lockscreen which also displays an advertisement fitting to the wallpaper image.

A feature which is disabled by default and need to be enabled manually by the user.

I am not happy about it either and have to say it’s sad seeing them spending time developing such a feature, while other, long requested features remain unanswered, but some people react as if they’ve loaded two dozen pre-installed apps into the OS and the new OS version will bombard you with ads in every single menu.

I am just guessing for recovering loss of nothing phone 3 and increase profit margin. But it is not a complete bloatware as it works as optional bloatware.

AnikethPani It’s optional now , that doesn’t give the assurance of it being optional permanently. If we didn’t question it now , this will eventually get worse. Even they haven’t mentioned anywhere ,that these ads and bloats will be optional permanently. That’s the problem

Maybe the OS will come with more bloatware on a budget models. We don’t know the real plans of Nothing. But like Apple (look how they reduced the production of Airs because of low sales) they should at least read the community as here are many-many complaints about the update and Lock Glimpse. So, while it’s still in beta, they could have trying another method of staying alive in this wild tech-world.

I guess so. Because even if I don’t have real complaints about it, someone definitely has more of them already.

Bruh!! I bought Nothing Phone 3 one month ago SOLE PURPOSE being clean, ad free, bloatware less experience!!

Regretting my decision now

( I know it won’t be for flagship but I have trust issues with Nothing now. They will eventually feed into Flagships as well)

sumukh_kulkarni3 Yup! Even I bought it for the exact same reason. CLEAN UI Experience 🥺 Now have to rethink about my next upgrade with Nothing 🤷🏻

So this is just cnf 2 pro with glass back and bad cameras right? Without charger in the box (not sure abt indian variant as cmf indian one had but idts there will be a charger in indian variant this time) atleast they should’ve added stereo speakers after so many feedback of cmf 2 pro 😭

Btw if you are buying one what would you choose b/w cmf 2 pro or this?

Coldpaw, well said. But hope nonetheless that Nothing (R) are listening and noting how important the absence of bloatware is as a purchasing factor for nothing phone buyers.

ShaikhMuhammad there’s tons of competition at the low price point of the 3a, so you have tons of options.

ShaikhMuhammad So what exactly is unclean in the UI? When disabled the Lock Glimpse feature only show as a single setting in the UI.
