aabhinandan both companies offers bloated software? Oh just stop. Xiaomi and Nothing now aren’t the same at all.
What Nothing provides for now is just a little wallpapers application. And nothing else. I guess I’m not the only one who didn’t even recognise at first it’s an ad.
What Xiaomi provides — tones of in-app advertising that just exists like you’re watching a website somewhere or have an app that has the only way to stay on the market🤷🏼♀️ and I know what am I talking because I used Xiaomi. It’s completely different experience. Yeah it has SO many features and sometimes it took me too much to find some simple options. You can also just easily change your region so you can get the Themes app disabled or Mi Pay come in, depends on a selected country. At my point this also takes too much space. Idk how’s that with HyperOS rn, but the exact same as I described was with MIUI. It has many cons because of it.
Also, let’s compare even a Phone 3a to the same price (or a bit less) Xiaomi. I’m using mine from July. Every Xiaomi bought by my friend or groupmate would get tones of lags, unwanted ads in File explorer, for example (like how?! It’s a system app!). While my Nothing is still playing like day one. I don’t see any bugs even with Beta version, let’s say (not counting those I found a solution for and essential apps notification I may misunderstand a bit). Because the optimization of Xiaomi phones isn’t that great to last them long unlike, surprisingly, Nothing.
Of course we don’t know what happens in the future and how the company will solve their earning problems. Anyway now I can’t even compare any Chinese company to it. Yeah, Glimpse is a bloatware at some point, but still it’s not enough for now to say this phone has “bloatware”.
Also unlike CMF_hacker I’m not as huge fan of Nothing as I still love Samsung in some cases and use it sometimes. Let’s be honest I have more other, I’d say, base complaints to Nothing, that I find more important.
For example, how you’d explain that stupid Android Switch that does literally nothing to properly move content from phone to phone? I had to fully reboot my phone after setting it up a bit and doing a few videos featuring the phone because this app works only while setting up the phone! But then why did I know this only after googling info then??? And I can’t even remember how many times I was saying it here in a community… but seems like nobody cares and really wants spending hours to set up a new phone instead of having just 30 minutes and your new phone is set up completely. Oh.
Or well. Why Essential Space still doesn’t have any synchronisation option at least? This all keeps me attached to the current phone until they’ll find a better solution to it. I definitely won’t move to Samsung as I got used to Essential Space (the one app that finally helps me planning and I don’t wanna swear at it).
They’d better copy Smart Switch from Samsung to seamlessly move everything without any cloud storages and accounts from Nothing to Nothing at least. Lock Glipmse is really nothing compared to this biggest issue that somehow consists.
And the last — after any complaints you should give suggestions. A few members (and also me) gave a few creative suggestions on how Nothing can avoid adding such stuff to OS. Maybe you have your own vision on how to do it, then tell it! Maybe Adam will read it and send to the team.
