📹HDR Video Recording on Nothing Phone 3a

The Phone 3a doesn’t have the feature of HDR Video in the Nothing Camera app.

But here is the catch, I tested using an external camera app, and HDR video recording works perfectly on the 3a, so the capability is clearly there.

It would be great if Nothing could enable HDR recording on the 3a through an update, since the hardware supports it

📝 Suggestion

If possible, please add HDR video support for Nothing Phone 3a in the Camera app.

It would bring the device closer to its full potential and improve the video experience.

It means the picture or video shows more detail in both very bright and very dark areas — so nothing looks too dark or too bright.

krithinParthiban Can mean many different things. There's two main types of HDR on Nothing cameras:

HDR Auto - When you take a picture, it takes multiple pictures quickly with different levels of exposure, then combines them into one. This gives you better details in dark areas and much more brightness in bright areas aka "dynamic range" hence the name "High Dynamic Range"
Ultra XDR in settings - Normal pictures are stored in SDR format which means every pixel can have 256 different levels of brightness. 0 is completely black, 255 is the normal maximum brightness. XDR allows it to go to crazy high values (thousands) which goes way beyond your phone's normal brightness to really pop out the picture. 3a normally has 1300 nits brightness but with XDR it can display at 3000 peak. This is extra brightness hence the name "eXtended Dynamic Range"

What OP is referring to in the video is the second type. Download the video to your phone and suddenly it would look much brighter than the rest of the things on screen
