I haven't been here that long. I believe I joined when I bought my CMF1 in OCT 2024 or so.
The forum dynamic has changed several times since then, which huge influxes of people in the following order:
- Complaining about the ugliness of the NP3.
- Complaining about the pricing of the NP3.
- Complaining about the specs of the unreleased NP3.
- Complaining about NOS4beta.
- Complaints about remapping the EK (maybe before 1 above even).
These phases wax and wane but are always interspersed with low-effort complaint posts with no data to confirm/deny. And people seemingly wanting iOS features for NOS price and NOTHING-produced apps for some reason, again for a budget price.
There are some hits with co-creation/detailed analysis and the Playground could be quite good but the signal:noise has become terrible.
I'm taking a backseat more as 90+% posts are in the top 5 categories. There used to be a ton of preset sharing and photo sharing and more co-creation. There might be a new 6th category which would be complaining about the quality of the programme. I should get a PhD student to write a dissertation about how online communities evolve from initiation through funding rounds and IPO and post-IPO.
It interesting to watch and I hope there's an upturn.
My next OP will be when I hit 100 battery cycles on my NP3 and a detailed analysis of how to measure the same thing with ADB on other phones/regions.
