Nothing OS vs. Other Android Skins

Being a Nothing fan since the beginning of this company, I feel Nothing is coming short compared to other android skins like Oxygen OS, Color OS, newly launched Origin OS etc. I'm experiencing all these new UIs and tbh Nothing feels like a lazy work. I totally get the whole point of minimalism but still u can do a lot of thing keeping it's minimalism at core. A good amount of lock screen customization should have been given, as well as a dynamic lock screen and notification stacking on both lockscreen & notification panel. I know it's not easy to impliment all these things but then what's the whole point? You will get far behind in the race because at some point people are gonna get bored of all this minimalism without any advanced customization option or other useful features in Nothing OS. You are pushing bloatwares and then giving nothing in return is a serious problem guys. People accepted the bloatwares in other UIs because they are getting a heck lot of features in return. What made you think Nothing users will accept all these without getting nothing comparing others? You can keep minimalism but since you're giving us a near stock android experience then you should also have adapted the M3 expressive UI design. Give us an option to switch between monochrome theme and M3 expressive as other brands give options to switch user's prefered themes…it will keep the excitement alive, trust me. Add some more lock screen customization like more clock styles or dynamic lock screen, notification stacking on both lock screen and notification panel, some resigned UI experience like redesigned recent apps part, some useful features implementing here and there. It will keep the experience exciting and alive I believe. What's your opinion? I stand against addition of bloatwares, in whatever form / under whatever condition.

But I also stand against mindless copying of son alled features from other os. Suggesting a company who is making their own pathway in tech industry, to blindly copy features from other brands is not what the community should be doing.

The USP of nothing is its minimalist os ( which they have ruined ) cannot be ruined more with these useless suggestions.

Sorry if I am harsh, but as a consumer who enjoys nothing's view, i oppose the idea of copying features and adding bloatwares.

I am going to sell my nothing phone early next year.. worst phone company till now.. when the whole world moving towards ai Era.. nothing is adding essential space.. which is no use tbh.. also in name of software update they just add extra dark mode and few icons and 3rd party apps.. they think they are the new Apple of Android phone 😄😄😄

AnirbanDeySarkar I try to post a similar view, and asked if nothing could bring a new UI change not like them but with their twist, and all I could hear was , I was called traitor, go and buy any other phone and all those from other users😂. Don't know y the request is so hard to ask….

CMF1_hacker brother they already changed their path to something they are not supposed to…so it was necessary to ask for some really useful features along with bloatwares.

krizxjr first of all I don't think seeing less notifications on lock screen is a visual gimmick…it just gets messy and where have I mentioned that I only want this features…they are for reference dude. If I start mentioning what are the real features I want, that post would have been a lot lengthy. I also mentioned in the last line that let me know if you want some features to be implemented from other UIs. See I'm not here to debate. As I studied a lot tech business case files, I know where they might go wrong and I seriously don't want them to be another business failure. I have been a Nothing fan since the very beginning, since Phone 1. I used Phone 2, 2a and made my friends and family buy nothing devices. But now seeing everything going on with Nothing, I felt like I should atleast say anything for the first time and it's not against them, I just want them to improve. Whether you accept it or not, they're far behind in the race and they themselves know the truth. That's why there's bloatware coming to make some money and improve there positions in the tech world. People get tired of something boring very easily. It has been a track record of various tech companies and I really don't want Nothing to become one of them. They are far more smarter than me and I hope they'll take the right call mate as well as you should. Criticism make things better, Glazing don't.

AbiS_MjZL72iTVk Bloatwares can be removed/deactivated. I'm going to remove TikTok and meta software (FB, IG, etc…) as I don't run them on my phones. This will be a two second process.

Silly and childish lock screen clocks (in colour!!!!!), transparency options, number of users on hotspot, etc…

These cannot be removed and are the real "bloat" against minimalism. Gimmicks, all of them. Why not just switch brands to a brand already producing this garbage?

Do you consider reading what you type before submission, or is this simply garbage AI reiteration you're posting?

AnirbanDeySarkar I'd argue there not BEHIND at all and provide a compelling alternative to the sparkly visualised garbage that other brands produce (Xiaomi, 1+, Samsung, etc…) Man, I can't wait until CMF gets fully spun off, and that the sparkly wanters will get what they want and NTL can focus on minimalism properly.

CMF1_hacker then you will keep waiting cause that won't gonna happen very soon mate. If you have been with Nothing's journey, we won't be having this convo mate. OG nothing users know what nothing used to be and what it have become. And I don't have any problem with that. No tech companies have been the same as they were in the begining. Samsung, Oneplus, Xiaomi, Oppo…I can keep naming them. Even Apple hasn't been the same as they were. So you'd argue but People at nothing and OG users won't. Cause they know the truth. Sorry if I'm being to harsh to a internet stranger but this discussion wasn't for debates. As I said, criticism make things better, glazing don't. I'm not telling them to give a gimmicky os like other chinese blockheads. Things I said on my post was for reference nothing else. I can bet that people will eventually refuse to all this and start opposing. Many things can be done keeping the os minimal as they were doing before. They still can but nowadays, nothing has really been different mate. You can say as many garbage things like 'Sparkly wanters' and all but it won't make your opinion right or change the fact. NTL should stay focussed on the wealthy markets with the minimal bling.

You make this company sound like the Apple of Android, only for the wealthy people in the world and not for those who want a solid phone that we can trust. I know some of the people on here moan about wanting expensive features and specs for a low cost, but this community should not be divided by wealth. Stop being rude to those who cannot help for their own money, and start trying to promote Nothing to actually help us have a phone that is good for all, no matter the money, taste or region! 🤬

Err_404NotFound this is pricisely why NOTHING and CMF will split so they can focus on their respective regions/markets. This only makes business sense. You see this Samsung and their A series of phones going from the 0 through 5 series.

I will likely continue to purchase CMF phones if the OS stays similar to NOS as it is now. If it balloons in features, I will look at other brands. I've already done Xiaomi and it had features 5 years ago the people seem to want now. No thanks.

CMF1_hacker so u don't need any new features too apart from 5 years old features. Features doesn't means visual ui changes. They should have implement more features with minamilist design without adopting apple or google. Every mobile and os critic is criticising NOS 4. Do u see this? If u don't want any features or improvement in camera and etc u should buy feature phone. Xiomi experience is always bad. U should have use samsung, pixel, OnePlus then you would understand NOS might have something thing to do.

Fahad I have a few 1+ phones in the house, some Xiaomi's and some Pixels.

NOS is significantly better than all of them.

If you don't agree, then why purchase a phone from NTL?

CMF1_hacker i hav purchased it for its minimalist design and i believe they have lot of things too add in their own way which can make experience btr. I have used other brand. Op was good when carl pei was there but op is now improving
