I was lucky to get access to the beta and 🙂‍↕️!

The bass is back—maybe not as aggressive as the first version of the headphones, but overall it feels more balanced with a very noticeable improvement.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that once I turn off noise cancellation, the bass seems to disappear.

I updated to beta 1.0.1.81, and the bass is back! It feels great, so I’m happily playing EQ again. In addition, I think it sounds better when Personal Sound is on.

I’ve also just updated to 1.0.1.81 and can confirm that bass is back. Currently listening to music without bass enhancement and only the simple balanced equaliser and it sounds pretty good. I’ve only listened to a few tracks so far, so I’m not yet absolutely sure.

Could someone on version 1.0.1.81 please check whether you can get some bass while using a wired signal with lossless media (like Apple Music Lossless) via USB-C?
Are you able to adjust the bass and get som punch, and is the overall sound quality good?

HI, I’ve now tried 1.0.01.81 on multiple connections playing AIFF from my local server via Roon and there’s definitely an improvement. I usually prefer to listen to music without any equalisation (which is why I was so disappointed I had to use it with the previous versions of firmware.).

All connection methods sound so much better, there’s a lot more bass available, if that’s what you want and other frequencies sound much more balanced. However, easily the best quality I’m getting is playing though through 3.5mm audio jack via my iFI USB DAC - it’s an old iDSD but it still sounds excellent. Although, I’ll probably stick with Bluetooth for most listening as it sounds OK now.

I swear I filled out the Google form, but I never got an email as confirmation nor instructions on installing the latest beta firmware.

Maybe it’s cause I’m still rocking 1.0.1.67 that it came loaded with from purchasing it 3 weeks ago.

What was the process for installing the beta firmware for others. Is there a hidden beta enrollment process within the nothing X app, or if I was forwarded the email from someone, would I be able to install it that way?

They currently sound great, but I’ve noticed some connection instability, so would have upgraded but held off due to all the comments about the lowend being sucked out in the .79 version that .80 didn’t address

I submitted feedback via the app and ticked a box somewhere to say I’d be happy to receive beta updates. I didn’t hear anything in response, but when I opened the app 4 days ago, there was a button to install 1.0.0.1.81. Which I did after reading the comments of a few others here, who had said that the bass was back. It is much improved.
