Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my thoughts about the recent Nothing OS 4.0 update and how it affects CMF Phone 1 users.
I’ve been using the CMF Phone 1 as my first device from the brand, and I really like the design and experience. But with OS 4.0 rolling out, I noticed something disappointing:
Essential Space and Essential Button are now big features of Nothing OS 4.0
All Nothing phones and the new CMF Phone 2 Pro support these features
But CMF Phone 1 does NOT have Essential Space or the Essential Button
What makes it worse is that Nothing OS 4.0 is also the final major OS update for CMF Phone 1, so we won’t get any of the upcoming UI/UX experiences that Nothing is promoting so heavily.
For a product that is the first phone of the CMF lineup, it honestly feels like early supporters are being left behind. Many of us bought CMF Phone 1 trusting the new brand and wanting to stay loyal to the ecosystem.
My suggestion:
It would be great if the company could offer a discount or an exchange/upgrade program for CMF Phone 1 users—something similar to what Nothing Phone 1 users got in earlier programs. This would help early adopters move to a device that supports all the latest features while still staying within the Nothing/CMF family.
I think this would be a fair way to appreciate the first wave of CMF users and maintain trust in the brand.
What do you all think?
Do you feel the same way about the Essential Space feature being missing on CMF Phone 1.
