Stereobasic I gotta say that I thought the idea of changing the icons was lame. Equally, I’m shocked that they caved and changed them. Now people remain upset that they weren’t changed the correct way, which I would expect as these users are temperamental. Personally, I find it wasted effort as people remain unhappy (didn’t meet the goal of changing them) and Dev effort was wasted as it’s not a meaningful change.
It MIGHT also show division within the decision of how to spend Dev time? Also, it does make me question allocation of Dev time that this was positioned high enough to be done.
Hopefully, NTL doesn’t cave to users again as this “icon issue” isn’t put to bed, at all, if that was the goal.
Having said that, it’s nice to see something different that I start at a lot. I had no real issues with the beta. So I have no recommendation for other changes that should be slated above status bar changes.
