Phone (1) Genuine Battery Replacement — Where to find one?

I’ve been rocking my Nothing Phone (1) for about 2.5 years now. I still love the phone, but the battery has naturally degraded over time — I’m currently sitting at around 75% of the original capacity, and it’s getting harder to make it through the day.

I want to replace the battery myself (or take it to a local shop), but I’ve hit a wall finding a genuine spare part. I’ve already tried buying batteries from a couple of online marketplaces, but every single one turned out to be a cheap fake/knockoff with terrible performance.

I have already reached out to Nothing Support via email to ask for official channels, but while I wait for their reply, I wanted to ask the community.

Has anyone successfully bought an original (or high-quality OEM) battery for Phone (1) online?

I am located in Kazakhstan, so I need a store that ships internationally.

I’m surely not the first one facing this issue as the Phone (1) gets older. Any links to trusted sellers or advice on how to spot the real deal would be super helpful!

I actually own two Phone (1) units.

While my main device is at 75%, the second one is still holding up well at 93% health because I use it strictly for calls.

However, since shipping to my region can be tricky, my plan is to buy two batteries at once — one for the immediate fix and another one to keep as a genuine backup for the second unit when the time comes. So, if anyone knows a legit store, I’m ready to make a bulk order.

Even though they look like the real deal in the photos, the reviews are actually bad. I’m looking for genuine quality, not a cheap knockoff.

To be honest, Nothing Support was absolutely no help in solving this. It feels like a total disregard for their customers. They basically leave us one-on-one with our problems without offering any solution. It’s extremely disappointing.

I put you a AliExpress link… I think that the best solution, because there isn’t many parts for Phone (1) in genuine stores because of unpopularity of the brand. So the only remaining place is AliExpress.

Warning about cellspare.com

I ran into a significant issue while trying to find a replacement battery for my Nothing Phone (1) and wanted to share the details so others don’t waste their time and money.

During my search, I found a website called cellspare.com that explicitly listed the battery as “100% Original” and “Genuine.” I decided to order it, trusting the description.

The Result: Despite cellspare.com appearing to be an India-based company, the package was shipped directly from China. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that this was not an OEM part, but a low-quality counterfeit.

Here is the breakdown of why this is a confirmed fake:

Wrong Manufacturer: The battery is branded with a large “HUSHITONG” logo. Genuine Nothing Phone (1) batteries are typically marked by the OEM (Sunwoda) or Nothing branding, never this third-party generic name.
Embarrassing Typos: There is a glaring spelling error on the label. It reads “MANUFACYURED DATE” (using a “Y” instead of “T”). Major OEMs do not make spelling mistakes on safety components. CIRCUET instead of CIRCUIT
Incorrect Design: The label uses standard generic fonts (like Arial) instead of the specific dot-matrix font style used on original Nothing components.

The Trap: When I confronted them regarding the authenticity, they denied it was a fake. To make matters worse, cellspare.com is refusing a refund unless I ship the battery back to India at my own expense. They seem to rely on the fact that shipping a loose lithium-ion battery internationally is restrictive and often costs more than the battery itself.

If you are hunting for parts, cross cellspare.com off your list. It appears to be a drop-shipping scheme selling bad fakes under the guise of original parts.

I have attached photos of the battery I received from Cellspare.com below. As you can see, it is a very bad counterfeit.

Aside from the service center, finding an original battery is almost impossible, even if the description or the battery itself has mentioned original oem part.

It’s unfortunately a more or less known issue with Nothing: Genuine spare parts are very hard to find, making it especially difficult for independent repair shops to service these devices, let alone any DIY projects.

Have you tried contacting Nothing directly regarding a battery swap?

I have been exchanging emails with them for days, but it’s useless. They provide zero real help and just answer with boilerplate template replies.

They refuse to sell the battery directly (even to an EU address) and keep pushing me to unauthorized local repair shops that use fake parts. For a company that talks about sustainability, their support for a 2.5-year-old device is disappointing

The last answer is to be like:

We apologize for the inconvenience and completely empathize with your concerns regarding the availability of spare parts.
We understand that you are interested in obtaining a list of our service centers in Europe. Regrettably, we do not have any authorized shops in Europe, and repairs can only be conducted at our service center.
Regarding your inquiry about purchasing a battery for the Nothing Phone (1), we currently do not have any spare parts available to send to you at this time.
For now, we recommend checking with a local repair center in your area, as sending your device to our repair center may not be practical for you.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

That reply is very weird, if they don’t have any official repair partners here in Europe, how do we Europeans get our Nothing products serviced when needed? I know for sure they do offer repair services here, but you have to send it in to Nothing so they will redirect it

I have to agree, the aftersales support for Nothing seems to be utterly poor, especially cobsidering the NP1 isn’t even too old.

Try contacting Nothing customer support directly and ask for a quote on a battery replacement. That’s likely the only way to assure you’ll get a genuine replacement.

I contacted support for a quote to replace the battery, and the price is 72EUR to Portugal outrageous for most consumers; the replacement cost is a third of a brand new Nothing Phone 1. This is a brand with excessively expensive technical assistance due to weak official support worldwide.
