Gmail showing dotted “dot-matrix” font in both sent and received emails on Nothing OS

I’m facing an issue with the Gmail app on my Nothing Phone. The text is atomatically displayed in a dotted dot-matrix style font — not only while composing/sending emails, but also when receiving and reading emails.

I did not change or set any custom font in Gmail or system settings. This issue started appearing only on Nothing OS, and it makes emails look unclear and unprofessional.

Kindly check and fix this issue.

Device: Nothing Phone 2

OS Version: Nothing OS 4.0

App: Gmail

jamshi993 That’s strange, although I’d love that to happen to me.

Nonetheless, you could try clearing the cache of Gmail and force-stopping it. Also check if there’s any Gmail updates on the Play Store.

Leoth Thanks for the suggestion. I already tried clearing cache, force-stopping Gmail, and even checked for updates — but the issue is still not resolved.

The dotted dot-matrix style font continues to appear in both sent and received emails. It looks like a system-level font rendering bug on Nothing OS rather than a Gmail issue.

I have the same issue, Dot matrix font in gmail , All caps. Stopping the app and clearing the cache did not help.

+100 to this! This happened to me after upgrading to 4.0 and it looks horrible! It’s really difficult to read.

Kinda strange. Maybe this issue depends on a model? My 3a doesn’t have not in Gmail

Update: The issue is resolved after restarting the phone multiple times.

Not sure what caused it, but the dotted font is now back to normal.
