Hey, everyone! Wishing all a happy 2026 ahead! Let’s use this as the megathread for the wishlist for the upcoming year. This thread is all about suggesting cool new features, fixes, and improvements for Nothing OS as we move beyond version 4.0. The Nothing team has been super receptive and open to user feedback, so this is our chance to make our voices heard. Lens switching during video recording (seriously, you can’t do that yet?!) and shutter lag during stills take precedence over everything else in my opinion.

It doesn’t make sense that they haven’t been fixed. We can make apps with AI, but we can’t switch lenses once recording has started? Seriously?

Hello there 👋

I’m a fresh new nothing user after long years with OnePlus phone on OxygenOS.

I’m super happy with the 4a but changing habits is always a challenge and I have a few.

I mostly miss 3 things and I figured it cost nothing to tell it here in case anyone had a solution and to potentially give ideas to the dev team.

Off screen gestures is what I miss the most by far. Being able to play/pause/prev/next music or on/off flashlight with simple gestures on the screen when it’s off became a daily routine to the point I didn’t realize I actually needed it this much until I lost this 😅
The physical button for silent/vibration/ring modes. Having to unlockthe phone, swipe the drawer and click a button is not as easy. I know I won’t get a physical button added but I was wondering if the button on the left to make screenshots couldn’t be changed to toggle between those 3 modes without having to unlock the phone. Although the risks of involuntary in-pocket clicks would be a thing.
This is probably an Android thing here but apps folders mostly open towards the top of the screen which makes it pretty hard to reach items near the top left region of the folder, when right handed, without re gripping the phone. A nice feature OnePlus(?) had was the possibility to swipe from a bottom corner to bring the folder items near the finger. But simply moving the folder window near the bottom of screen would definitely do. I’m quite surprised android didn’t think about this. But I may be missing a reason.

Why nothing smartphones don’t have any option to add custom fonts? It will be fun to add from own choice. And it also makes nothing a genz brand. It’s just my opinion tho.

Hey I have this interesting and simple idea…..like on the homescreen we can scroll down from anywhere to drag down the notif panel, in other windows of other applications (or literally anywhere else), it’d be great to have a gesture to do the exact same thing.

Example gesture: swipe right to left, then down (aka something like an inverted L shape). Doing this anywhere on the screen anytime in any app would drag down the notif panel.

This would save the hassle of stretching your fingers to the top of the phone or rather leave one of your hands off of the phone just to drag down the notif panel.

Future Update Request

Feature Request: Compact Keyboard Mode / Toggle for Keyboard Dismiss Icon.

The persistent ‘down arrow’ icon below the keyboard adds excessive vertical bulk. On the Nothing Phone (3), this occupies valuable UI space that could be used for content. I suggest adding a setting to remove this spacer or integrate the ‘hide’ function into a gesture to provide a more immersive, full-screen experience.

I’ve been using Nothing 4a for a while now and I really wish if it had some level of glyph ringtone composition system like the other models.

The essential space is great for taking quick notes and other things but would be better if you could right notes by hand or drawn thing kinda like Samsung notes/apple notepad.This would make the app soo much more better overall rather than installing random note pad apps on the play store which some are just generally bad/pay to use.So having a native app would be nice.

Edit:Can we also get a customisable essential button so if we let’s say long hold and double tab we can go to wallet for example or long hold and triple tap for another app or setting like a quick way to activate do not disturb.It would make it more useful for the people who don’t take notes often.

Can anyone correct me but do we have gesture features so if I use my eyes or hand we can set it to do a certain thing kind like apples shortcut app and/or eye tracking thing

I use cmf Phone 2 Pro and I like Nothing OS very much, but there are some options that Nothing needs to fix, including changing app optimization from manual to automatic and camera options. Adding Microphone on/off option

Hey guys, just wanna suggest something small but super useful.

Can we have better slider behavior specifically a “drag from current” function for things like brightness?

Right now, most sliders just jump straight to wherever you tap. It works, but sometimes it feels kinda off, especially when you just want to adjust slightly or when you want to slide to the side of the phone and ended up collide with your phone case (some people that don’t use phone case probably do not have this issue 😅)

What I mean is:

If you tap → it jumps (that’s fine)
But if you press and drag → it should start from your current value and adjust smoothly

Basically combining both:

Tap for quick jumps (or remove this 😅)
Drag for precise control

Why it would be nice:

More accurate adjustments (no sudden jumps)

Feels more natural when you just want to tweak a little

Prevents accidental big changes

Better one-handed usability

Just overall smoother UX

I think it would make the whole experience feel more polished and responsive.

As per the above sentence hereby I request the team to upgrade the device to allow a command such when we command the phone to call a person it must call directly to the person . This is my request to upgrade it kindly go through this idea
