Is Nothing OS 4.0 Safe to Install on CMF by Nothing Phone 1?

I am a CMF by Nothing Phone 1 user. Recently, my phone has received the Nothing OS 4.0 update. Can I safely install this update? Are there any known bugs or battery draining issues? Is there any possibility of facing problems after updating the phone?

Kindly share your experience if anyone has already updated.

I don’t saw any serious problem with it.

except, a little bit more battery draining and a little bit lag sometimes in Quick use and switching between the apps or opening recent apps menu and app library & controll centre, I mention that again, just sometimes, mabey once per day.(It’s not strange at all; so It can easily be ignored.)

( I hope nothing solves these in future updates, maybe debug or security patch updates.)

after all, this update improved my camera quality, I think. and the animations are pretty fast & smooth compared to NOS 3.2.

by the way, The choice is yours.

AurpanSinha I don’t know but most of the time hdr won’t work in camera. It only started happening after this update on my CMF phone 1

AurpanSinha just go ahead and install the new update . But one thing keep in mind in case you set your custom wallpaper and that wallpaper having some corner edge gradient desgin.so due to the nothing OS 4.0 since they smooth the animation for opening app or swipe navigation so you might can feel that in your mobile corner screen some color patches are appearing. But this is not an issue of nothing OS 4.0 ,

it will due to the custom wallpaper.

I was having same issue with my custome wallpaper and today I checked with the service center and they suggested to change the wallpaper having darker color background like inbuilt wallpaper provided.

I’ve used every update of the CMF1 including this new one. I have a NP3 as well and NOS 4 works well on both (there are small issues that seem to be being resolved with each update).

Most of the features of the NP3 OS 4.0 are smoothly running on the CMF1 and I daily usage of both devices very similar (except the cameras).

after updating ur device it takes 3 days for software to settle….“settings-> Apps-> app optimisation” do it after Updating ur device.. it ll make ur device smooth n fast…

Just once checked properly regarding the description of 4.0

I recently purchased last Saturday nothing phone 3a and yesterday (Sunday) i upgraded to nothing OS 4.0 and now am facing the white patches are appearing at the bottom of the screen when we opening any apps or navigation.

Tommorow i will be visiting to the service center related to this issue and once I will get problem solved and will update here.

I was able to install Nothing OS 4.0 on the CMF Phone 1 I gave to my father last December. Battery life is the same as when it was still under Nothing OS 3.0. There are some cool new notable features with Nothing OS 4.0 like the new camera presets, Nothing Playground widgets, new status bar icons, and enhanced pop-up view.

As soon as you get the Nothing OS 4.0 update on your CMF Phone 1, I’d recommend disabling a system app that installs bloatware called “AppServices” though. You can read more details about that here:
