Headphone (1) first impressions

A few days ago I’ve got my birthday present — a pair of new Headphone (1) in black! This is why I decided to post there my very first impressions about it.

A few things I noticed:

They sit pretty good on my head, although it wasn’t as good on the first time I put them on. I thought they’re just hurting my head because the headboard was pressing on the top of my head. At the second day everything was as good that I had them for a few hours without having a need to put them off.
Their sound is literally amazing! But after I set a personalized sound, they started sound a bit same as my Ear’s. Anyway, I find the sound pretty good for them. Also I love that they’re headphones, so the volume is comfortable for me to listen music.
ANC is just good. I still barely hear something without any sound turned on but anyway it’s not as hard hearable as on my Ear’s that tend to fall from my ears. Will test them today in the streets of my city and tell more.
Also for streets. Now we have approximately -13°C, so it’ll be interesting how they’ll survive at this cold👀 because I bought them to walk outside while wearing hats and so on. I charged them at 100% already to check it. I’ll update the post when I’ll do the test!
Well, packaging! This is what really impressed me. Not mentioning their tactile box, but that case! Looks heavy, of course, but at the same time it’s so “premium-made”. I’m just impressed.
A big “thank you” to the team that thought that adding a new Nothing X widget to every pair of earphones we own is much better than having a single widget that could recognise which device do we use at the moment. Like, come on, you’re relying so much on Essentials: Space, Apps, Search. Why not add this Essential tweak for Nothing X widget so we’ll be needing just one widget on a home screen. I had to remove the Community widget because of it because I didn’t wanted to have third screen enabled🥲 I’ll type it to support in Nothing X seems. If any of the team or @Louis ☕️ sees this, I’d like you to search if there any ways to fix it. Someone uses 3 or more devices, why should he need numerous widgets for every device?

EDIT: I did an outside test of them and here’s what interesting!

For approx. -12 they survived pretty good, I’d say, insane. The lose only 10% of battery from one hour listening. Remember it’s cold outside, they only were protected by the hood of my coat (and a bit by scarf). They survived and it’s great!
I still hear what’s outside in ANC mode. Not as loudly, but still. At one hand it’s good because I can hear cars driving, who knows what can happen. At the other hand I’d wanted it to cancel better. Also I’m listening silently, this is around like 30-40 from 100. So this may also affect on how ANC works, idk. I was also wearing it on my hat, so…
They didn’t get that extremely cold thanks to my hood and scarf. I still need to get used to how to wear them on the hat tbh.

themountofmint i’m very happy for you. Do the bass boost works for you with regular use ? It never worked in mine.

After some days I finally chose the spatial audio option wich looks more rich than regular or personalized audio. Everything feels flat when i switch back from Spatial audio. I’m waiting for the new update that seems to fix some issues and i hope i will enjoy regular audio finally.

The design and real control button are amazing.

Stereobasic it works, I’d say. But as for me I really can’t see that much difference in sound between these and Ear. Assuming that headphones were tuned by KEF and Ear’s were tuned, maybe, by teenage engineering (idk, someone different seems), then it’s… strange a bit or? Anyways, it’s good so I can’t complain.

I’m not using spatial audio at all, maybe I just don’t understand it for me😅🤷🏼‍♀️

PREET AJMERI typical responsible parents! If it works fine don’t change, there are so many things to buy. So choose another thing more usefull! Our world is dying because of waste and pollution everywhere.

PREET AJMERI AH! I have my dad which asked “what’s wrong with your headphones you’ve already got, why do you need a new ones?”🤣🤣🤣 But my old JBL are quite bad at the moment, because they don’t have any ANC and their sound became flat because the ear caps are cracked and torn. I had them from 2020 so time is never a doctor in this way😂

I said that the old ones are bad. And well, I’ve got money from my birthday as a present, so why can’t I just go and buy anything I like? I know it sounds weird to someone. Also, speaking about my experience, these Nothingies cost around 20000 roubles in my country (what’s around 220 euros) and their cost was a bit shocked to my dad! These were all the money I’ve got on my birthday. But then he didn’t say nothing.

This Friday when we got them in a local store a consultant opened them for us and showed why did I pay such price, then everything simply was explained by the package😃

Once you’ll be as rich to buy anything you’d like without having to ask your parents for it, I’m pretty sure. I already bought many expensive things (such as all Nothing ecosystem at all or a few bags) which I wouldn’t get from my parents mostly because of its price.

i have other brand headphones, it says 70hrs of playback time and it lasts for a week minimum… and i use them all day…

JP I bought mine to use outside at first. Assuming there’s a cold temperature rn in my city (-16 today!🥶) and they lose about 10% yesterday after that outside walk… I guess they’ll last me around a week or around two weeks… my preferred user case — outside walks (unless it’s too hot) and home video calls (with clients, etc.). For other user cases there’s a pair of Ear’s that I mostly use with one ear to be “in contact” with the world while using ANC😃

Nothing, as I said to you in DM, just stays crazy. I’m gonna watch an interview with Carl now, and I’ll check will it lose %. Because for these two days it’s still 90%

And, to your message, Siberian cold may low up to -56 or even -60 but too rarely. Soooo…😅

Btw: I’d say I’m doing a massive cold test to these headphones🤣 because it seems that no one from the team expected them to work at such minus temperature (and that someone will ever do this). They survived the test! I’m really curious how long do they will stay on a single charge. Tomorrow (today for me) will be third day when I’ll be outside wearing them. Also with minus…

themountofmint yup…because as much as i know most of the electronics are made to withstand 0 to 45c and sometimes higher/lower for industrial use…

It will not…10% will last somewhere around 6-7 hrs…

-50 is too much🥶

😂😂 definately -20c is first time for nothing headphones… let’s see how it goes…

Well, let’s be honest, they stay pretty good at cold. The only thing that feels cooler when I arrive home is a metallic edges. Overall not as bad because I was listening something in it

Well, February here! I’m using them for a month already and here are some cool things:

The battery on them right now — 45%. I was mostly listening with them outside, so it was around 16 hours in total already
The weather usually was -13/-7°C, today it’s -14°C. Once it was -16 or more. They’re really surviving pretty well. @Carl I’m really surprised of this! I guess no one would expect such stress test in real life 🙂))
And yeah, they fit perfectly and no pressure to my head with the hat. Perfectly.
Another sad thing: the ANC on them isn’t great actually, because I still hear what’s outside while driving on the bus or just walking somewhere near city roads. Idk can this be fixed with the update but anyway it should be fixed in a Headphone (2).

In general, I’m still happy to own these! Can’t wait to the weather to be a bit warmer so I could go outside showing everyone which headphones do I use😅 I guess I’m still the one person in a city with these.
