Unable to Log in to Work Apps (Duo) Due to Rooted/Tampered Flag After Recent Update - Nothing os 4.0

Hello Nothing Community,

I’m a working professional and recently updated my Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro to Nothing os 4.0. After the latest update, I’ve been facing an issue where Duo, is flagging my device as “rooted or tampered.” As a result, I am unable to log in to my work apps, and Google Play Protect also reports that my device is compromised.

This is a critical issue for many of us in the professional space who rely on secure access to work apps, and it’s causing significant disruptions in daily tasks. I would like to request a resolution to this issue as soon as possible, especially for users who depend on these devices for work.

Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing this or if a solution is being worked on

SyedShareemAhmad Hey mate, have you checked with employer to see if they (a) support the use of Nothing Phones as part of their BYOD policy (b) don’t have a minimum/maximum OS policies in place? For example, my employer usually doesn’t support the latest OS version until a few months after release, and only support Pixel/Galaxy devices as part of their BYOD policy.

I’d suggest speaking to one of your IT admins and see what their take is.

Also, I would suggest contacting Nothing Support via https://www.nothing.tech/pages/contact-support/ for their assistance too, they might be able to troubleshoot with you in case this isn’t a corporate IT issue.

hrry I have also faced similar kind of issue in my CMF Phone 2 Pro when updated to Nothing OS B4.0-260108-1654 , Google Play Store is showing “Device is not certified” when I check Play Protect certification (Play Store → Profile → Settings → About).

Before the update everything was fine and certification showed as normal. I haven’t unlocked bootloader, never rooted, never flashed anything custom. Just installed the official OTA like always.

I’m worried because Google says uncertified devices may have apps that don’t work correctly, might not get updates properly, and some features could break. Also saw that Google Wallet/tap-to-pay can stop working on uncertified devices.

I tried restarting, waiting 10+ minutes, but nothing changed,cleared data and cache of google play services and playstore Still shows not certified.many users facing this issue

Just before the update, everything was working fine. This issue only occurred after the update, so I believe the main cause might be failing of Google Play Integrrity Attestation. It seems to be flagging the device as tampered or rooted, which is preventing me from logging into my work apps.

I’ll reach out to Nothing Support as you suggested. Hopefully, they can help troubleshoot the issue further.
