Hi everyone,
I’d like to share some thoughts from my day-to-day use of Essential Space on the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro.
So far, I’ve been enjoying the feature. Essential Space makes it easy to collect important screenshots in one place, and the AI does a pretty good job extracting useful information from them. One feature I personally find very helpful is how a screenshot can be turned into a reminder and synced directly with Google Calendar, based on the context captured using the Essential Key.
Within Essential Space, there’s also Essential Memory, which is meant to store selected information. However, as a user, I’m still a bit unclear about how certain data is chosen to become a “Memories.” Not everything in Essential Space appears there, and sometimes items I expect to be saved don’t show up.
This then connects to Essential Search. According to Nothing, it should retrieve context-aware data stored in Essential Memory. In some cases, it works well and finds what I need. In other cases, it doesn’t seem to reference existing Memories consistently.
Based on this experience, I just wanted to share a few simple suggestions:
Essential Space: It would be great if we could search screenshots by text or context, especially as the number of saved items grows.
Essential Memory: Giving users an option to manually choose which items should be saved as Memories might make things clearer and more predictable.
Essential Search: The idea of a one-search experience is already useful. Over time, it would be nice to see it become more universal, including the ability to understand text inside images.
Overall, I think the foundation of these features is promising. With a bit more clarity and control, they could become even more useful in daily use.
Just sharing my experience, happy to hear how others are using these features too.
