This was my mom’s phone. I grew up playing so many games on it — it’s honestly full of memories for me. It served our family all the way till early 2022, and even today, it’s still working perfectly.

Simple, reliable, and timeless. A true GOAT phone

PREET AJMERI i had intex aqua a1 at that time…(now many people didn’t even heard about intex) that was my first smart phone…i got it when i cleared 10th exams…unfortunately I don’t have photos of it… i still have that phone lying around somewhere in my closet but couldn’t find it…

Here is the image i found on internet… i still remember it has 512mb ram with 8gb storage… and that can run vice city 🔥

Old phone were very good in long term use.. i still have perfectly working realme 5 pro which is 5 years old with 60% battery health…

PREET AJMERI In 2016 I was still happily using my OnePlus One but I also had an iPhone 6s for work. I just recently (over Christmas break) had to discard my OPO as the battery had swollen greatly breaking the case and cracking the screen. Thankfully it didn’t cause a fire…

megatomic My Redmi phone went through same; it suffered from a swollen battery, not just once but twice. Each time, I replaced the faulty battery with a new one to keep it running. However, after years of service, I finally decided to retire the device in 2022.

PREET AJMERI My OPO was tucked safely away the original box it shipped in, in my climate controlled bedroom closet. The battery had been replaced a few years back with a certified part; I guess I just wasn’t meant to keep such a valuable relic forever. All that remains of it now is the SIM ejector tool in its rubber sleeve and the red cable.

PREET AJMERI I loved the design of the OPO, but the OP3T was their best overall design in my opinion. I still like their hardware design but their software is what keeps me from buying from them now.

megatomic I don’t know why, but I’ve always had a soft spot for phones with a single camera, especially when that camera was placed right at the center. There’s something clean, balanced, and almost timeless about that design. That’s why, when I started working on my own compact phone concept, I made sure to give it a center‑aligned camera. It feels like a nod to the designs I loved growing up, while also giving my project a unique sense of symmetry and identity.

Gayatri A ohh..i had redmi 3s 🔥 great phone… that 8mp camera was used to take better photos than today’s 32mp camera😂

Back in 2016, I was exploring different phones mostly for the experience, not specs. Here’s what I remember from each one:

• Lumia 535 — I really miss Windows Phone and Live Tiles. Glad Nothing OS brings a bit of that feeling back.
• BlackBerry Z3 (Jakarta Edition) — great grip, that’s what stuck with me.
• Honor Holly 3C — my first “proper” Android, entry-level but meaningful.
• Meizu M2 — probably the most enjoyable phone I used in 2016 for its price.
• BlackBerry Q10 — touch + physical keyboard with smooth BB10, sadly limited by apps.

Sadly no photos left — I only started properly backing up to Google Photos in 2017 😅

Looking back, phones back then felt more about character than specs.

PREET AJMERI only thing i remember from 2016 which changed our lives was Reliance Jio launch. The internet has not been same since then. Free voice calling and unlimited data unlocked potential on another level. Bought Oneplus 3T on launch day by standing in a queue for hours to use Jio 4G. The one thing I recall clearly is sitting there, listening to Mukesh and Akash Ambani’s speech while casually eating. My first tech was getting a lenovo AIO computer at 5 years old in 2014. Somehow it survived without any hardware issues until few months back when it was dropped while cleaning and the screen messed up

In 2016 I had a Huawei P7, which I loved because of its glass in the back. The phone felt so premium and had a really nice camera quality for the time.

It got stolen from me during a concert in Madrid and then I had to switch to a Huawei P8 Lite, which did not feel as good, but lasted me until 2019. A 3-year lifespan was quite big for a mid range Android at that time

Bubi I also want to try Huawei, but it is not available in the Indian Market. Huawei really performs well in R&D. 90-degree corners look sick 🔥
