Essential Notifications of the Glyph Matrix: points to improve

I’m a regular user of the Glyph Matrix essential notifications and, putting aside their many bugs when displaying notifications, I’d like to suggest some features that they absolutely should have to be far more useful:

Being able to set a priority order or not. That is, to define a hierarchy for notifications regardless of the order in which you receive them. For example, if my wife calls me and then I receive a WhatsApp message (both set as essential notifications), the call from my wife should be shown as a higher priority on the Glyph Matrix.
A smoother transition when showing or switching essential notifications. Right now they just pop up abruptly; they could have some kind of entry animation to make it more visually pleasant.
That the rear button does something alongside essential notifications. I find it incredible that it does nothing when essential notifications are being shown. Here are two proposals:

If you press and hold the button, remove the essential notification currently being displayed and either show none, or display the previously shown essential notification.

Another option would be that if you hold the button for 2 seconds, it shows all the essential notifications currently active (with a lateral transition, which would be great).
Besides fixing the bugs in the rules for creating essential notifications that we’ve been dragging along since the NOS 4.0 beta (3 months with bugs!), add a negative rule. That is, being able to say “show the notification except if X word appears.” The opposite of what can currently be done.
Support animated GIFs. I think Essential Notifications would be much more useful and, at the same time, more fun if animated images could also be used.

I don’t know, I’m surprised by how little care Nothing is putting into what is supposedly its most personal and charismatic feature. They really need to step up.

I’ve since deleted my approximately 40 essential notification rules. Then I created new rules for my wife, daughter-in-law, and both sons, and sent myself messages (WhatsApp and email) using my wife’s phone. Everything works. The Glyph Matrix displays my wife when a message arrives. Then I create more rules for friends, calendar, and so on. I tested it again in between, and it works. Then at some point, it stops working. The ringing bell only plays for a few seconds. Changing the existing rule for my wife doesn’t help. However, if I delete and recreate her rule, it works for her again. I would have to do the same for my daughter-in-law and sons. It’s a vicious cycle. I suspect the Glyph interface only allows a certain number of rules.

It’s likely to fail when you’ve received a WhatsApp message (for example) from your wife, who does have an essential notification enabled, and then someone who does NOT have an essential notification set sends you another WhatsApp message. This is my main issue — it’s likely the same thing is happening to you. Everyone who tests this scenario experiences the failure.

I recommend that you send your issues to technical support, let’s see if that way they finally listen to us after 6 months of unresolved errors 🙁
