Hey i really liked your keyboard and wanted to use it but there is two problems with it

One : it’s not multilingual; i have 3 different keyboards for 3 different languages in my gboard, but in your keyboard there’s only English, which unfortunately is not the only language i know and i talk to people with.

(Why this matter ? Because i also speak Persian which does not use the latin alphabet, and i literally cannot type with your keyboard)

Second : it’s a bit slow; i type kinda fast, and when i push it, your keyboard will just kinda fall behind which is no big deal but still a tiny bit annoying. That could easily be fixed via some coding allowing the keyboard to register letters faster.

Thank you for reading my comment. I hope one day you add an option to add more languages to your keyboard so i can use it; it matches the vibe of our nothing phone decently.

Looks great but has some bugs with height. Also I would use it as a main keyboard If it had language switch and height settings. Needs some improvement.

1. There is no switch to off the vibrations in the app (my bad) but you can disable the haptics in the settings and it will remove them
2. There is some bugs about that, I am looking how to improve fast typing
3. You can hold it to switch it to Emoji or Clipboard based on the settings (Settings -> Key settings -> Left key modes)
4. Yeah, it’s based on Azerty Gboard, not the greatest, in the classic layout they appear on holding “,” and in Gboard variants they appears on holding “.”

If Gboard variants for layout doesn’t appear in your settings, you might want to update to the latest release

Most of features are local, only using the AI features will send your data to Google as it uses Gemini API. The voice input beta features also use a cloud base failsafe if local doesn’t work.

This is the best thing I’ve seen in a long time, if only I could resize the keyboard and make it a little smaller so that I can adjust it to my tiny hands and the typing and gliding algorithm was lil closer to Gboard I AM SWITCHING.

please get rid of the punctuation marks beside letter l and m in qwerty format. Most of the people are swithing from gboard and the punctuation marks are causing me to make lot of typos.
The keyword height is very small for my taste. I would like height adjument option.
And option to add number row above the keyboard please.

Aesthetic wise, its really amazing.

I’ve been waiting so long for a keyboard of this sort. Great Work Dev! 👏

I do have some suggestions though.

I couldn’t find a switch to turn off the Vibrations. Either that isn’t programmed yet, or, I’m dumb.
I saw another user mention this and its true. The typing is somewhat slow. It could be because of the vibrations as I use Gboard without vibrations, but it feels as if the key isn’t registered even when I press it.
Also, Is there no way to remove the AI button or reprogram it to do smth else? I think most of us don’t have the need for a dedicated AI button in the Keyboard (YET).
The MOSTLY USED SYMBOLS are inside the ‘additional press’ menu. I mean you click the ‘symbols/numbers button’ in the bottom left and you gotta press again to get to the basic ones like Question mark and Exclamation points.

On the Contrary however, I love the aesthetics. The yellow AI button (though useless to me) really embraces the Nothing aesthetic on the dark keyboard.

dotSlimy Subject: Stunning work on the Nothing Keyboard! Idea for Universal Language Support

Hi,

I’ve been using your keyboard app and I have to say—the design is absolutely beautiful. You’ve nailed the Nothing aesthetic, and the way you’ve integrated Gemini for real-time autocorrect and assistance is brilliant. It feels like the “missing link” for Nothing OS.

I’d love to make this my primary keyboard, but since I use multiple languages, the current limitation is the only thing holding me back.

Since you’ve already done the heavy lifting by using Gemini for autocorrect, adding support for any language could be much simpler than you think. My suggestion: User-Defined Layouts.

Instead of manually mapping every language yourself, you could implement a simple configuration engine (JSON/XML) that allows users to define their own key maps:

Community-Driven: Users can create and share layout files for their own languages. You won’t have to write a single line of code for new languages; the community will do it for you.

Leverage your AI: Since Gemini already handles the context and corrections, it doesn’t matter which language layout the user defines—the AI will understand the input regardless.

True Community Edition: This would make your app the first truly “universal” community keyboard.

Thanks for building such a cool tool. I really hope to see this feature so I can ditch Gboard for good!

PRs are open if you want to add languages on github but import custom XML was an idea that crossed my mind.
The main problem is about autocorrect and word prediction since they based themselves on dictionaries locally downloaded (Gemini is only for the AI features, autocorrect and word prediction are local algorithms). Adding a new language would mean also adding those files into the app.

I’ll think about maybe allowing new layouts through extensions which by default would disable word prediction and autocorrect. It touches about core implementation so I am not even sure it is possible in the current state of the keyboard.

Dev, great app. I ran into an issue where the Nothing Phone 3 cammot be unlocked with Nboard if the phone has the Advanced Protection setting enabled. The Nboard crashes and does not allow password/Pin input. The only solutiom is to plug a keyboard through usb c to the NP3 to input code.

I am currently working on XML layout packs, it will come out as a beta version as I am speedrunning it, so you could all share custom layouts (with both gboard and classic bottom row). Note : If this works without so much problems, this will probably be the last major update (still fixing bugs tho).

V1.4.0 is out !

This will be the last Major version as it adds custom layout for the keyboard. If you want more languages, just create a new template file, and don’t hesitate to share them on the repo in the dedicated folder !

So, I was going to send this Monday but apparently got distracted and just now remembered to do so. I used this keyboard all day, as it felt like I was writing a book. Lol! It grew on me and I really like it. Therefore, it is now my main keyboard. 🙂

So, anyone can answer this. I’m just curious. So, 1.3 reads that it has emojis. 1.4 doesn’t say anything about emojis. So, 1.3 has the emoji picker and 1.4 does not…correct? If that is the case, then will 1.4 or a future version of the keyboard get the emoji picker added to it? @dotSlimy If you are able to answer, as well…

Every features that were present on the previous versions are still there on the newer ones, dw. Emoji picker as been present since launch and still works the same.
