Nothing In The USA...Literally...

Can anyone explain to me why people in the United States can’t order a 4a? And for some reason at the very least can only “sign up” for the 4a Pro? I was dying to order the 4a, and had my credit card in hand ready to rock…to only find out I couldn’t…

I mean, I know our god-awful president is a nightmare and is making our country a literal hellscape, trying to drag the rest of the world with him, but Americans are not behind him and we actually ARE good people.

Is it political? Regulatory? General Preference?

Just curious if anyone knows…

infiniteturnip26 Most likely due to political and economic reasons (i.e. Trump’s tariffs make it hard for Nothing to sell their Phones in the USA, and to compete with the large duopoly in the USA of Apple and Samsung).

I am sorry for the fact that people in the USA cannot get the (4a) or (4a) Pro, but it is due to your country’s political issues and economic factors which affect Nothing in the UK, and also most likely the global oil shortage caused by the US-Israel strikes on Iran.

infiniteturnip26 Hi, this is most likely due to carrier requirements that require software and hardware to be adapted to their specifications. Even before the presidential change, the Nphone 1 and other budget A-series models weren’t available in the US, and the change to Nothing has added even more pressure. So, only their more expensive models are available in the US. There may be inaccuracies, because I wrote this through a translator.

megatomic Yeah, I agree with you on this, it seems that since Nothing produces the global version (USA and UK versions) in China, then the existing US tariffs and trade blockades on China affects how Nothing tries to get the products to the US.

And also specific carrier guidelines make it even harder for Nothing to adapt the hardware and software for just one country.

Regardless as to which world leaders are responsible for this flipping mess, it’s unfortunate that the rich and powerful rule, and what they say goes. I hope they choke on the saliva from their own nervous breakdowns.

People need to rule their countries, and the representatives do what they demand - not make promises to get them elected and then screw every single citizen that voted / did not vote for them - this is why we can’t nice things - like the 4(a) in white with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.

From my understanding Nothing is prepping to make a big move here in the US. It does suck that we didn’t get the (4a) at launch and it also sucks that we have to wait a little bit for the (4a) Pro. But they are going to be launching here soon with pre-orders opening up March 13th and open sales happening on the 27th.

I’m going to make an educated guess here and say that we may get a NYC launch somewhere around the time of the open sales.
