Am I the first person to receive a Nothing Phone (4a) Pro?
Right, so this is either the luckiest delivery timing in Nothing history or someone at Very’s warehouse pressed a button they shouldn’t have.
I pre-ordered the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro on 16th March through Very. Standard process, nothing unusual. Got my confirmation email, expected to wait until the 27th like everyone else.
Then today, 19th March, the postman turns up with a package. I’ll be honest, I’d forgotten I’d even ordered anything else recently, so I wasn’t expecting it. Opened it up and there it was. The Phone (4a) Pro. In the flesh. A full week before it’s supposed to be available to anyone.
I’ve checked the Nothing website, checked the other retailers, checked forums and open sales aren’t until March 27th or via Harrods drop etc. Pre-orders only opened on the 13th. This phone isn’t in shops. It isn’t in anyone’s hands yet, as far as I can tell. Reviews are still using pre-production units. And yet here I am, typing this on a phone that technically shouldn’t exist in a customer’s possession for another eight days.
The box is sealed, retail packaging, nothing unusual about it. It’s not a review unit or a beta device. It’s a standard consumer box with all the usual bits inside.
I’m half expecting a knock on the door from Nothing’s logistics team asking for it back. Or Very sending me an apologetic email and a returns label.
So has anyone else had theirs turn up early, or have I genuinely jumped the queue by accident? Would love to know if this is a one-off or if Very’s fulfilment system has gone rogue.
Happy to answer any questions about the phone if anyone’s on the fence about ordering
