Hello
I purchased the CMF Buds 2a on 16th December 2025 and they have been working really well. But after regular usage over that time, I am back to one of my gripes with earphones….. filter hell. The filters between the internal components and the opening of the earphones get gunged up with earwax leading to a severely affected volume. The guidance is usually to clean these filters. And in extreme cases, you may need to reseat these filters by taking them out and placing them again. I had the same issue with the MEE Audio M6 Pro 2nd Generation in-ear monitors, and Redmi Buds 6 Lite and I am honestly fed up. I thought I must have some issue with my earwax, but both my GP and an NHS ear clinic have said I don’t have an unusual amount of ear wax in either ear. These filters are tiny and have to be carefully handled, otherwise you will end up losing them or placing them back wrong. And it’s even more difficult with the Buds 2a than the 2 other earphones mentioned as the opening to the earphone is an oval shape and you must place back the filter in exactly the right direction. Now I have lost the little ring that goes around one of the filters and now the left earbud cannot even go in my ear properly.
What am I doing wrong? Should I just admit defeat and go to bone conduction or something? I am not a fan of over-ears. Or will this be covered by warranty?
