Hi Community, my name is Karan Rathod, and this is actually my first time writing here. I’m also very new to this community, so getting the opportunity to experience and review the Nothing Phone (4a) genuinely felt very special to me. It’s now been more than 28 days since I started using this device, and I thought this would be the best time to share my honest first impressions and overall experience with it.

The first thing that really stood out to me was the design. Even after using the phone for a few weeks, it still feels fresh every time I pick it up.

The transparent back and the Glyph lights instantly give it a unique identity, and that’s honestly what makes it feel different from most smartphones out there right now.

As someone who loves creating clean product visuals and commercial style shots, I also had a lot of fun photographing this device. It’s one of those phones that naturally looks good on camera, whether it’s under natural light, indoors, or in a more cinematic setup.
A big part of my experience with this device has been around the camera. Most of my usage has been around the 1x and 2x lenses, and that’s where I personally had the most fun. My style usually leans more towards fashion, portraits, and art photography, so I wanted to see how this phone performs when I use it in my own creative way. I tried a bubble wrap portrait shoot with my model, and I also captured a few street-style, sunset, and moonlit mood shots, just to experiment with different environments and tones. Honestly, the results surprised me in a really good way. The images felt clean, detailed, and had a very nice natural look that worked well for the kind of visual storytelling I personally enjoy.

Some Street, Sunset photography and the first photos after unboxing in my studio:

Performance wise, the device has been smooth in my regular day to day usage so far. The new chip feels well balanced for multitasking, camera usage, browsing, and overall daily performance. The Glyph lights are also something I genuinely enjoyed using, not just because they look cool, but because they make the phone feel a little more alive and interactive.
Overall, after using the Nothing Phone (4a) for more than 28 days, I can say this device has left a really positive impression on me not just as a phone, but also as a creative tool that I genuinely enjoyed experimenting with. I still feel like there’s a lot more I’d love to create with this device, and hopefully with future devices too. For now, this was a trial and review experience, but I’m genuinely grateful for the opportunity. Thank you and hopefully, we get to create more together in the future.
Thanks team for th opportunity☺️
