I am writing this review almost a year later. I only came across these products again while cleaning my drawer, which honestly says a lot.
I bought this CMF phone on 1st October 2024 as an impulsive purchase. Initially I really liked the phone. It worked smoothly, performance was decent and overall it felt like a good value for money device.
However the real issue came later.
I used the phone for barely 2 to 3 weeks. One day right after coming out of the shower I accidentally dropped it when I received a call. The impact completely damaged the screen to the point where it became unusable.
What shocked me was the repair cost.
I contacted customer support to understand the screen replacement cost and I was told it would be around 12000 rupees. Considering the phone itself cost around 15000 rupees this is extremely unreasonable and hard to justify.
This completely changes the value proposition of the product. A budget phone should not have such expensive repairs.
Also this was not my only bad experience with the brand. I had purchased the CMF Watch along with the phone and it stopped working within the first week. It would not turn on despite charging it for hours. I have shared a detailed review of that separately.
I have also faced a similar issue with the Nothing Ear Stick.
Overall while the products may seem good initially my experience with durability and after sales support has been very disappointing.
Right now I am using an iPhone 16 and OnePlus Buds 3 which I bought later. The iPhone was purchased during the Flipkart Diwali sale and it has been totally worth it. The delivery experience was also great as I received it within minutes.
My suggestion is if you are planning to buy from this brand do not just look at the upfront price. Also consider repair costs durability and long term reliability.
