Hello Nothing Community, I'm Mohammed Nihal, and I've been working on something that I think a lot of you will use. After a month of working with designer **@"ItzNotHJ"#107050** , **Side Dock Closed Beta is now live**. This is a productivity sidebar made just for Nothing devices. **Why I Made This** I like how clean Nothing OS looks, but I had to switch apps a lot to do simple things. I wanted tools that were strong but not always there, tools that show up when you need them and disappear when you don't. The experience is absolutely outstanding 👍. The haptic feedback works flawlessly, and the UI/UX integration is seamless, giving it a clean, minimalistic appearance.

It would be even better if the app could open in a pop-up view without changing the current tab.

One suggestion: it would be great if the side dock’s color could adapt dynamically to the display theme

There are some limitations in terms of creating pop-ups or floating tabs in Android . I have done my best trying to integrate this function in this application, but I haven’t succeeded yet. As far as I know, it would need some settings of developer options, though I will continue searching for the ways to achieve it.

Concerning the theme change feature, it will be released with the next update.

Bug report: if you try to hide the opened sidebar but fail (swipe right on the opened sidebar very slightly), the bar will move to the left, in the image, I recreated the bug multiple times and you can see it is now in the center of the screen

Mohammed Nihal I installed and uninstalled it, must feature - add custom model provider like openai capable or anthropic capable API , we can add free models , Gemini requires billing setups,

TECHxARNOB Oh sorry for inconvenience, but if I’m not mistaken Gemini doesn’t require billing. It requires billing only of you exceed the Quota. We also provide on device Ai support and that works pretty well too.

Mohammed Nihal not a suggestion - but a wish - I wish you had gone for the pie design - it was a craze during the cynogen and lineage days - when u press the edges of the phone the dock opens in a pie or half circle format there were even layers in the dock

@Mohammed Nihal I didn’t realize the app is over 1gb, is there any reason for a dock app to be that huge? Or is it just cuz of the beta? Also, the app so far as been solid albeit, I only found myself using it just for apps to access quickly! Never owned a Samsung device that had the more latest one UI which had the side dock so prolly missing the point of using a dock 😅

BatVet1017 Hey! For your information, the actual file size is only around 23MB.

1.5GB+ that you mentioned comes from on-device AI, which powers the AI-driven features like Audio Flow. While this is totally optional, it provides much greater capabilities.

In case you have only used it to launch applications, you haven’t seen the real magic yet 😉 you could try:

• Snap Cut - instant subject crop

• Audio Flow - extremely precise voice recognition (only on certain devices)

Additionally, we have an upcoming small update with the new Snippets feature, which allows you to create custom shortcuts for typing certain things frequently (like emails or replies). In my opinion, it’s probably the most valuable update yet.

Even bigger update is right around the corner 👀

Mohammed Nihal That makes a lot of sense as I did download the on-model AI. Sure, I will try again the entirety of the AI features and let you know if I have some suggestions, thanks mate!
