Obsolete by Tame Impala is lowkey a great headphone test track because the mix is super layered and full of tiny details that cheaper or badly tuned headphones usually miss. You can really hear the instrument separation, imaging, and how clean the mids/highs are.
The bass is tight without being too overpowering too, so itās good for telling whether headphones are actually controlled or just bass boosted for the sake of it. The synths and vocals also move around the mix a lot, which makes it easy to test soundstage and stereo positioning.
If the headphones are good, every layer feels like it has its own space instead of everything blending together into a wall of sound.
