Output Audio Switcher Widget Request for Nth Playground

I’ve been using Nothing for around 2 months now and unfortunately I still don’t have access to create widgets in Nth Playground yet.

So I wanted to ask — can someone who already has access try creating a widget for audio output switching?

For those who don’t know, it’s the feature that lets you quickly switch audio between your phone speaker and connected Bluetooth devices without disconnecting them. Right now I’ve only seen this feature working through Spotify, but having it as a standalone widget would be really useful and much quicker to access.

Max The widget runtime is sandboxed, so it can’t launch system panels, control Bluetooth audio routing, or open Android settings menus. Those actions require full native app privileges, which widgets simply don’t have access to.

Also, if you want to quickly switch the audio output, just swipe down the Quick Settings panel. In the media player controls, you’ll see a device switcher button in the top-right corner that lets you change between connected audio devices easily.

If I’m wrong about any of this, somebody correct me. And if it’s somehow possible to build a widget like this using Nothing Playground, then I’d genuinely love to see someone try it.

DJ It’s still not ideal 😅 At least for me, it’s awkward and uncomfortable…

What I would love to have (I don’t know if it’s even possible but it’s my dream) is to control the audio volume when two sources are working - in my case it’s Spotify and Delta Force, but many times I want to hear mainly the game. Of course this isn’t through the playground, but I think it could be a nice feature for the operating system. In fact, I think I’ll submit it as official feedback😅

lolifnotely🇮🇱 On Nothing Phones we still don’t have a per app volume conrol yet, so the only way to do this right now is to either manually lower the audio inside the Deltaforce (which i perform currently) settings to balance it with Spotify, or use a third-party app from the Play Store.

That makes sense, I didn’t know the widget runtime was that restricted.

I was mainly hoping for something similar to Spotify’s output switcher — just a quicker way to swap between phone speaker and Bluetooth devices without opening the full media panel every time. Even a shortcut that opens the media output selector directly would already be useful.

Still, thanks for explaining how the sandbox works. Hopefully Nothing adds deeper system integration for widgets in the future, because this feels like one of those small features that would actually improve daily usability.
