Pixelated UI Icons and Logos on Nothing Phone (4a)

I’ve been noticing a weird UI rendering issue on my Nothing Phone (4a).

Many icons and logos across apps look heavily pixelated or low-resolution, even though the text right beside them is perfectly sharp.

Examples: In WhatsApp, the “Communities” text is very crisp, but the icon above it looks blurry/pixelated.

The YouTube logo and some top-bar icons also appear low quality.

This happens inside official apps themselves, not just in one app.

It feels like:

Some icons are being rendered at a lower resolution

Or GPU/UI scaling is causing improper anti-aliasing

Or app assets are not scaling correctly with the display

I’ve attached screenshots for reference.

Multiple apps show the same issue

Would appreciate if others with Nothing devices can confirm whether they face this too.

Yes Ive been experiencing the same problem with my Nothing Phone 3a. It’s especially annoying on YouTube and Instagram where the icons are pixilated and blurry. Hopefully Nothing comes up with a solution for this soon.

Such a irritating flaw in the UI

I’ve noticed in some app icons and in the YouTube pause/play and forward buttons

For example: Safety and Google TV

I’ve had the phone for almost 6 months now, and this issue has only been around for a month. I’ve only noticed the issue two updates ago; I’m not sure what update numbers were.

It used to just be in some apps, such as the “Reels” Icon in Instagram, and then it spread to WhatsApp, YouTube and some other Apps.

AbhijayBollu Yeah, same here, this issue appears on certain social media apps only. Hope it gets fixed in the upcoming update.

What other glitches are you facing. Another notable on is that my volume up and down buttons are very unresponsive and requried for me to press it multiple times to react and work.

AbhijayBollu I am not facing any other issues; the only issue was that blurry icons and app UI. Now that was also fixed somehow.

@Samarth97 Mine got fixed automatically a few days ago. I didn’t do anything specific for the display issue itself. I was actually troubleshooting a Wi-Fi/DNS issue, so I restarted my phone. Since the blurry/pixelated images were still there, I also cleared the cache and reinstalled the affected apps (LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp). After that, the issue just disappeared. I’m not sure whether it was the restart, cache clearing, app reinstall, or a background update, but it’s completely fixed on my device now, and I haven’t faced the problem again.

Saw this thread, I am also experiencing the low resolution logos.

I have submitted a Feedback form via my Phone (4a) in Settings > Tips and feedback > Feedback. I urge others to do the same and I have shared this thread link too.
