Hey everyone,
I’ve been looking at the CMF wearable lineup… from the Watch Pro 2 to the newer Watch 3 Pro that’s been out for a while now. I absolutely love the design language and the clean aesthetic Nothing/CMF brings to the table. But after sitting down with a ruler and doing the actual math on my wrist, I hit a pretty frustrating realization: these watches just aren’t universal.
My wrist has a 40 mm flat surface area (about 45 mm total width if you count the side curves). When a watch diameter is 45 mm or 47 mm, it doesn’t just sit edge-to-edge—the rigid chassis literally overhangs into thin air on both sides of my arm.
It feels like smartwatch brands are stuck in an endless loop of chasing bigger displays and maximum screen real estate, completely sacrificing ergonomics in the process.
Here is the reality: a smaller screen isn’t a bad thing. A 40 mm or 42 mm watch can still be incredibly functional, look incredibly sleek, and most importantly… actually fit a massive segment of the population without looking like a wall clock strapped to a wrist.
Right now, it feels like these products are strictly engineered for people with larger wrists. When will tech companies stop chasing the “max screen size” gimmick and start making well proportioned wearables that fit everyone comfortably?
Are any other smaller / medium wristed users feeling completely left out by CMF’s dimensions, or is it just me? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
