This post will be the place to check the latest status of Nothing OS rollouts, feature availability, and app-based updates across Nothing devices. We’ll keep it updated as rollouts progress and new information is ready to share. 👇 Down below you can find a list of FAQ’s along with brief descriptions of the various stages in software development. This also includes some tips on how to stay up to date on our software releases and feature rollouts. --- ## Current Nothing OS rollout status ### Nothing OS 4.0 ✅ Nothing OS 4.0 rollout is now complete for eligible devices. ### Nothing OS 4.1 ✅ Nothing OS 4.1 rollout is now complete for eligible devices. ## Why some features may arrive later, or only on certain devices Not every feature ships to every device at the same time. Some features introduced with Nothing OS 4.1 are currently available on selected devices first. This can happen due to hardware support, optimisation needs, stability testing, or the need to fine-tune the experience before expanding it further. Where possible, we’ll continue working to bring these features to more devices through upcoming updates, including: * Lock Screen clock face customisation * Lock Screen Depth Effect Wallpaper * Breathing Practice widget * Glyph Matrix breathing widget * Flip to Glyph improvements * Updated Nothing ecosystem icons for earbuds and headphones These features are planned to arrive on more devices (Phone (2), Phone (3), Phone (3a) Pro, Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Lite, Phone (2a) Plus, Phone (2a), CMF Phone 1, CMF Phone 2 Pro) starting end of June, with rollout timing varying by device. ## Essential Voice availability 🗣️ Essential Voice is currently available on selected devices, including Phone (3), Phone (4a) Pro, and Phone (4a). As the feature uses cloud-based processing, we’re continuing to evaluate performance, cost, scalability, and overall user experience before confirming wider availability. We’ll share more once we have a clearer timeline. ## App-based updates 📦 Some updates are delivered through the Google Play Store rather than a full Nothing OS rollout. This includes updates to apps and experiences such as Essential Space, Essential Search, Nothing Gallery, Nothing X, and other system apps. These updates may bring new features, improvements, and fixes outside of a major OS release. To make sure you receive them, you can update the apps manually through the Play Store or turn on automatic updates. ## Minor updates ⛏️ Minor updates are smaller releases between major Nothing OS versions. They usually include bug fixes, stability improvements, performance tuning, security updates, and smaller feature additions. In some cases, they may also bring selected features that were not ready in time for the previous major update. These updates may not always look huge on the surface, but they play an important role in making the overall experience smoother and more reliable. ## Firmware Updates bot 🤖 You can also follow our Firmware Updates bot to track the latest minor and major software updates. It posts changelogs for new firmware releases across Nothing and CMF devices, so you can quickly see what has changed, what has been fixed, and which devices are receiving updates. This includes system updates, app-related firmware updates, and audio or wearable product updates where relevant. Before it reaches your device, teams across software, product, design, testing, operations, and support work through months of development, compatibility checks, issue fixing, optimisation, and staged rollout planning. That’s why timelines can sometimes shift. We’ll always aim to move fast, but we’ll also prioritise stability and user experience over rushing a release. Is it just me, or is this the most pointless release roadmap of all time?! Everything on the list is already released, and the one thing everyone is actually waiting for doesn’t even have a fixed release date or at least a release window..😅

grepGander By ‘the thing everyone is waiting for’, I actually meant an Android version update or at least a Point Update of the NothingOS theme for Android.

grepGander The really disappointing thing is that there is no release date for The Magic Eraser in the gallery, In my opinion..

It’s true that there are third-party apps, but I’m excited to know what they will do

sonny.exe Android 17 is important why? So the whole point of owning a phone is not using it but waiting year in, year out for major Android releases? Or you want to say that you are unable to use your phone currently with Android 16, and you need Android 17 features (very few of them, mind you - https://developer.android.com/about/versions/17/summary - as the whole point of Android 17 is optimisation, strengthening security and AI crap) in order to do so?

Edit: If you’re waiting for Gemini Intelligence - you won’t get it. Only a very few devices are capable of it (by Google’s terms), and Google has chosen not to include even their own Pixel 9 series (all models) and current Pixel 10 (non-Pro; Pro and Pro XL are included). All other major features are Google’s, so it’s on Google to release them (like improved Gboard, new Gemini functionality (Rambler), revamped Google Maps etc.).

grepGander That is absolutely not what I wrote or meant, making your response a textbook example of a straw man argument. Quick side question: you wouldn’t happen to be a German fulfilling a stereotype right now, would you?

From my point of view, it’s a fact that a large part of the community is currently waiting for NOS 5.0 / Android 17. And that is exactly what has no fixed point in this roadmap. That was the core of my statement, and nothing else.

Better luck next time. Unfortunately, you didn’t manage to get a rise out of me this time. 🥺

Need Update on Nothing 3a Pro in Camera Department,,About slow shutter lag in night photography,late after photo processing,Better HDR in sunlight……this is haven’t improved dispite previous updates…Please Look in to it…. having 3x periscope lense…photos comes noise..if you see deeply….

jamshi993 your point is right but the thing is that it was good in NOS 3.2 which was released with the phone . It was best clear natural image zoom quality was also good but after that everything went wrong 💔… They genuinely need to Think about CMF Brand 🥲.

I think they messed up 🥀. Even we don’t know the ai eraser and ai reflection features will be there or not in the CMF phone 2 pro atp ..

From last 1 week i am facing this issue on my cmf phone 2 pro.

where while using the phone like doing normal stuff taking photo’s watching videos on YouTube or using editing apps like Snapseed or even playing game(codm).

The whole phone screen gets this type of thing idk what it is and what it is called maine a crash report and it don’t go off by it self or clearing apps and chache. I have to restart the device then it goes off

first i thought it might be happening due to devloper move, i haven’t changed anything in that option but still I turned it off.

But even after doing that this issue is keep happening like nowadays it is happening 6 to 8 times a day

Kapsss 👾 strange… I’ve never seen this happening when app get crashed…

Try reinstalling apps which are mentioned in logs…

This happened on camera app and Google search box, this apps i cannot uninstall totally, but I have cleared chache and Snapseed i have reinstalled but still the issue exist

Kapsss 👾 first clear data and cache both for the apps and restart and see it that issue still persist or not…

Check in developer options if these options are enabled or not… disable them

And check if any app has display over other app permission which seems off… you can that in settings>apps >special app permission…

Zac 🛸 I really hope Phone (2)'s OIS video bug will be fixed. If it reaches end of support every video taken with it will have a jitter at the end…
