Hey Nothing fam 🙂
I have been using the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro for a month now through the Community Review Program. Honestly this phone really gets my lifestyle.
My daily routine is much the same every day: I scroll through things take pictures edit them post them and then do it all again. I do not care about all the details I just need a phone that can keep up with me when I am out taking pictures or trying to finish a video.
After using the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro for 28 days and putting it through a lot here is what I really think about it.
📸 The Cameras – The Sole Reason I’m Here
As someone heavily invested in mobile photography, the standard 4a caught my eye, but the Pro completely changed how I shoot. The new True Lens Engine 4 processing gives everything a beautifully natural look—no aggressive, over-sharpened AI nonsense here.
Main Camera (50MP) – {Sony LYT-710, 1/1.56″ sensor, f/1.88, OIS}: It is fast. The rapid shutter behavior means I can literally snap photos while walking down the street and still pull clean, sharp frames. It pulls in an incredible amount of ambient light without blowing out the highlights.
Periscope Lens (50MP) – {Samsung ISOCELL JN5, 3.5x Optical Zoom, OIS}: Easily my absolute favorite lens on this phone. The 3.5x optical and 7x in-sensor crops give you an insane level of compression and depth. It yields a proper, intentional DSLR feel that completely elevates street photography and portrait work. Plus, pushing it to the extreme 140x ultra zoom is a wild flex, even if it’s just to see what’s on the other side of the neighborhood. But up to 20x, photos are pretty useful without losing that much quality but sometimes it misses.
Ultrawide (8MP): It’s a decent 120-degree shooter. Nothing groundbreaking, but it does exactly what it needs to do for architectural perspectives, and wide landscapes.

🎨 Design

The Glyph Matrix
Finally, it has come to Phone (4a) Pro straight from Phone (3). It connected to key information with Glyph Tools. Also, it shows you custom symbols for contacts so that you didn;t miss it.

📺 Display – Brighter Than The Sun
The screen on this device is 6.83″ with a 1.5K AMOLED display. It looks really great.
5,000 Nits Peak Brightness: I can look at my edits. Scroll through social media in the middle of the day even when the sun is shining directly on it without having to strain my eyes or find a shady spot.
Fluid 144Hz Refresh Rate: The refresh rate changes automatically. It makes everything on the screen feel really smooth.
The Size Trade-off: The screen is quite big. If you have hands it can be a bit tricky to scroll through Instagram with one hand but being able to edit videos on such a large screen makes it worth it. The extra space is really helpful, for editing.
🔋 Battery – Total Peace of Mind
The phone has a big 5,400mAh battery that fits in a slim body. This means it can last a long time.
Insane Screen-On Time: I can use my phone for a time with 5G always on. I can take lots of photos edit them away and watch YouTube for hours. My screen stays on for 8 to 10 hours but it can vary for other users since I’m not that much hardcore user like I don’t play games at all.
Real-World Endurance: I can go out. Take photos all day. Then I can edit them on my way home scroll through my phone, at night and still have battery left. I do not need to charge my phone.
⚡ Nothing OS: The Short and Sweet Software Breakdown
Nothing OS makes this phone an easy-to-use creative tool. It is clean and very smooth to use. There is no software.
Here is what is important in the update:
💥 The Big Win (4K at 60FPS): The latest software update now allows 4K at 60FPS video recording on both the main and telephoto lenses. This is an upgrade for creators. It gives you motion, stable pans and the ability to shoot clear 2x slow-mo.
🖼️ Native Gallery and AI Eraser: You can now add, edit or completely remove dot-matrix watermarks after taking a photo. The built-in AI Eraser lets you remove things like tourists or trash cans. You do not need third-party apps.
🎨 Visual Polish: The updated user interface adds a Lock Screen effect. Your wallpaper can now layer over the clock text. You also have control, over the clock size. It will not block your photos.

⚡ The. The Next-Gen Dream
The Phone 4a Pro is not just about looking good. It is an reliable tool for creating things. The cameras on The Phone 4a Pro are really fun. Nothing OS is very useful. Does not have a lot of extra stuff. The battery of The Phone 4a Pro is very strong. If you use The Phone 4a Pro all the time and make a lot of content The Phone 4a Pro is a choice.
💡 My Wishlist: Give Us a Compact Pro!
The big 6.83 inch screen of The Phone 4a Pro is great for editing videos.. It can be hard to use The Phone 4a Pro with one hand when you are moving around.
I have an idea for the Nothing team. What if you made a version of The Phone 4a Pro time? A smaller version with a 6.1 inch screen that still has a body and a good camera. That would be great, for people who make content and want a phone that’s powerful but not too big.
What do you think about The Phone 4a Pro? Do you like the screen for editing or would you prefer a smaller Nothing Phone? Let us talk about it in the comments.
