Hello Nothing Community
After studying the recent teaser design shared by Nothing, I recreated the highlighted portion of the device as a cleaner render to better understand what the potential (4b) phone could look like.
While this isn’t an official render, the design visible in the sketch reveals several interesting details about the direction Nothing might take with the most affordable device in its Phone (4) series.
A Whole New Identity for the Camera
The first thing that stands out is the unique camera module.
Instead of using multiple large camera circles, the main and possibly ultra-wide cameras are connected, with the flash and telephoto camera likely connected and arranged horizontally on the left side of the device.
And in the rectangular area where the cameras are located, there is a row of LEDs running horizontally in the lower left corner, the same row of LEDs that we had vertically on the 4a.
The layout feels intentionally simple, almost as if Nothing wanted the design itself to be the feature rather than the number of cameras.
More space, less clutter
One of the most interesting aspects of this design is the amount of empty space.
Most smartphone camera islands today are packed with sensors and visual elements. In contrast, this concept leaves large parts of the module untouched, creating a cleaner, more organized look.
This approach seems very consistent with Nothing’s minimalist design philosophy.
A New Nothing Signature Element
A Simpler, Cheaper Alternative to the Phone (4a)
Just by looking at the design language shown in the teaser, the Phone (4b) looks more focused, simpler, and cheaper than the Phone (4a).
The camera layout is cleaner, the visual structure is less cluttered, and the overall composition suggests a device designed to be more accessible while still maintaining Nothing’s brand identity.
If this interpretation is correct, the Phone (4b) could become the most affordable member of the Phone (4) family, while also introducing one of the cleanest camera designs Nothing has ever created.
Final Thoughts
What struck me most about this design wasn’t its hardware, but rather its confident simplicity.
The large pill-shaped element, the balanced placement of the camera and flash, the generous use of white space, and the minimalist camera island all give the Phone (4b) a unique personality that sets it apart from previous Nothing devices.
If this teaser is indeed indicative of the upcoming Phone (4b), Nothing may be preparing one of its m

st distinctive budget smartphones yet.
