S_Griff I think there is a huge misunderstanding about market segments here. A starting price of ₹34,999 is absolutely not a budget phone in India. The budget market here is strictly under ₹25,000 to ₹35,000, in the present market scenario. If Nothing had actually priced the Phone 4b like a CMF device or a bit more, you would be totally right. Nobody would complain. At a budget price, a plastic body, thick bezels, and slow 33W charging are perfectly acceptable tradeoffs. But they did not.
They priced it at ₹35,000. At this price point, we are sitting right in the mid range category. When consumers pay that much money, they expect the hardware to match the price tag. As I mentioned earlier, today competitors like the Samsung Galaxy M47 or A27 (priced way lesser), and Redmi Turbo 5 (matching the price) are offering premium builds, 45W or even 100W charging, similar category chipset and far better display, water resistance, better version of ram & storage. I am not complaining just for the sake of it. I’m calling it out because Nothing is charging mid range prices for hardware that belongs in the budget tier. You cannot put a ₹35k price tag on a phone and then use the budget market excuse to justify extreme compromises.
