Almost a year ago I released a small app to share glyph art with other Nothing owners. Today, Glyph Museum is a community of over 15,000 monthly active users, and 2.0 is by far the biggest update in its history. Honestly, it’s closer to a rebuild.
New here? Glyph Museum lets you browse, create and share designs for the Glyph Matrix on Phone (3) and Phone (4a) Pro. Put them on your AOD, widgets and Glyph Toys, or make them light up right when things happen on your phone: unlocking, charging, volume, camera and more. Get it on Google Play.
Here’s what’s new.

⚙️ A new engine behind the glass
Everything the app draws on the Matrix (previews, toys, effects, alerts, the always-on display) now runs on a single new rendering engine, rebuilt from scratch. What that means for you:
- Always-on Glyph Toys just work now. Grant battery access once and your animations keep running, no more frozen frames.
- Animations can now be faster and more fluid. The minimum frame time drops from 50ms to 20ms, so creators can push designs up to 2.5x faster than what was possible before.
- The volume effect reacts instantly to your physical buttons. Over 10x faster than before.

👋 A fresh start
First launch is now a small experience of its own, and a new interactive Matrix opening animation greets you on every open.
And you’re never left guessing: key sections now come with built-in mini guides that appear on your first visit, and you can reopen them anytime from the ? icon. Some of them even adapt to your device, with their own versions for Phone (3), Phone (4a) Pro and phones without a Glyph Matrix.

🔍 Search that guides you
Search got a full redesign a living Matrix animation guides you while you type, with suggested tags, smarter filters and a cleaner history.

🎨 Redesigned everywhere
- Posts and profiles have brand new designs, including playback controls for animated designs.
- Achievements moved to their own screen, with lower goals and unlocks that pop up the moment you earn them.
- The Frames tab is now Matrix, one home for your frames and your Glyph Alerts, with live previews right from the picker.
- Plus dozens of smaller touches: smoother scrolling, pull to refresh on profiles, a new dot-matrix default avatar, and a lock animation for locked frames.

🤍 Made by 15,000 of you
None of this matters without the people making the art. Since launch, the community has published 12,000 designs. Thank you. Seriously.
Translations are community-made too: some languages are already at 100%, more are getting close, and there are 30+ languages open and waiting for translators. Want Glyph Museum in your language? Join Community Translate and make it happen.

It goes beyond the app itself, too: the glyph art format is now open for third-party developers, so other apps can read, write and play designs made here. If you build for the Glyph Matrix, everything you need is at glyphmuseum.com/developers.
And after seeing what you did with the Widget Challenge, one thing is clear: we need more of those. New challenges are coming soon, start warming up.
