Thank you for sharing the image of the AirPod, I didn’t see it before!
The clicky sound is indeed a must for me too, especially if the closing mechanism is with magnets. The amount of times the case of my TWS earphones has been opened and closed while in the pocket of my coat, only the case knows.
As for the logo, I think there are ways and ways of displaying the brand’s identity. I’m really curious to see what Nothing will do. Hopefully, all the basics you mentioned will be there to follow the company’s motto: “fading into the background”. And not casting a shadow over the earphones themselves, removing any value or functionalities.
Regarding the LEDs, I think they should be clearer than the ones I’ve tried. Sometimes it can be hard to grasp if the case is going to die or if it still can hold another charge. And a tiny clicky button to turn on the LEDs instead of opening the case (like the satisfying one in the old MacBook models) would be a nice touch.

Very interesting comparison between those three. It’s funny how slightly similar they all are, yet how different that piece of plastic can be.
I think they (companies) and we (consumers) should give a little more importance to the cases without removing the value of the product itself.
Almost like the unboxing of the eternal unboxing. Products are unboxed once in their lifetime, while the earphones are unboxed day after day, so this “unboxing experience” shouldn’t be forgotten.
About lost earphones, would be even better if the box can alert you when they are not around, or one is missing from inside. This can seem against the option of leaving the case at home, but could be solved by activating/deactivating it in the app, sending you a notification, or even with a button on the case.

Are there any features that the case should have for you, without unveiling any secrets of the Ear 1’s, of course? 🤓
