I purchased my Nothing Phone 2 on 4th Aug 2023. The phone worked normally. A couple of times it slipped from my hand just after receiving but no damage was done except a small dent on the body. However after a few days, the data transfer from the phone using C Type cable stopped. Android Auto stopped working too at the same time and the phone stopped supporting original Nothing Cable that came with the phone. However it was charging normally using other able and wireless charging. The original cable is also working fine with other phones.
I took the phone to service centre on 19th Dec where they kept the phone for half day and retured without doing anything as the concerned engineer was not available.
I again took the phone the next day (20th Dec.) and they said some part was faulty and they will order the spare for it.
On 25th, I visited the service centre again and the service centre informed that the phone has fallen and is thereofre out of warranty. They also informed that they will do a software reset as the ordered part is not required to be changed. However after the software reset no change in status was observed. And the service centre guy without checking the phone told me that the some other part needs to be changed and he will confirm with his superiors and confirm. Since then he did not contact me. Today when i called, they told me that the PCB is required to be changed and the approx cost woulld be around INR 20000.
I am not able to understand why should I pay for replacing the part during guarantee if at all it is required. Every phone falls now and then and my phone kept on working for a few weeks after the fall, So how can the fall be the reason for the phone not working properly now ?
There is only 1 technician at the service centre in Bhilai, Chattisgarh, India and he is seldom available at the service centre. Moreover he shows no interest in seriously resolving the issue and on my 3rd visit told me that the phone is out of warranty and i need to pay for the repair. I told him that i had updated my software the previous day to version 2.5 but still he insisted on reetting the phone which ultimately did not yield any result apart from causing inconvineince to me by deleting all the data on my phone.
This attitude of Nothing Service centre has caused me a lot of inconvineince and still my phone is not working even after more than 10 days of first complaint.
