Here’s a quick guide on how to post better on the Nothing Community. Nothing too serious or preachy, just a few simple things that make your posts clearer, easier to read, and more likely to get good replies. If you’ve got an idea, feedback, or something you want to share, this should help it come across better. Let’s get into it.

Post toolbar explained 🧩

This is the bar you’ll use the most while posting. You don’t need to master everything here. Just know what exists and use it when it actually helps.

Post button

Publishes your discussion. Quick check before you tap it goes a long way.
Upload button

Use this to upload images directly into your post. Best for photos, mockups, or screenshots.
Text type selector

Changes text size and style. Useful for headings and sections so your post is easy to scan.
Bold

Highlight key points or important lines. Don’t overdo it.
Italic

Good for emphasis or side notes.
Inline code

Best for commands, filenames, settings, or anything that should stand out as technical.
Quote

Use this to highlight an important line, feedback, or a key thought.
Link

Clean way to add references without pasting raw URLs everywhere.
Image

Insert images via link. Useful for banners or when you want more control over placement.
Bulleted list

Great for features, points, or quick breakdowns.
Numbered list

Best when order matters, steps, guides, or sequences.
Table

Helpful for comparisons, specs, or structured info.
Toggle checklist

Useful for tasks, progress tracking, or structured feedback posts.
Additional controls

Extra formatting options when you need more control.
Emoji picker 😊

Use sparingly. One emoji can add personality. Ten just add noise.

You don’t need to use every tool in every post.

Use what helps your idea come across clearly and skip the rest.

Choosing the right tags 🏷️

Tags decide where your post shows up and who actually sees it. Pick them right and the right people find your post faster.

Phone series

Use this if your post is about a specific device. Bugs, feedback, reviews, battery issues, camera samples, all go here.
Nothing OS

Anything software related. UI feedback, features, bugs, animations, settings, updates. If it’s on the screen, this is the tag.
CMF by Nothing

For CMF phones, audio, accessories, or anything CMF-specific.
Co-Creation

Concepts, designs, mockups, ideas, experiments. If you made something or are proposing something new, this is the place.
Community Help

When you’re stuck and need help. Questions, issues, troubleshooting. Straight to the point works best here.
Everything Else

General discussions, thoughts, or things that don’t fit neatly anywhere else.

Just make sure If someone searches for your post later, the tag should make sense immediately.

Uploading & aligning images 🖼️

Images help a lot, especially for feedback, concepts, and comparisons.

Use the upload button to add images to your post.

This inserts them as image links in the editor.
If you want two images aligned side by side, make sure their links are right next to each other.

No space, no line break between the links.
For best results, use images with the same size and aspect ratio.

That keeps the layout clean and balanced.
Add a line break only after the images if you want text below them.

If you want an image to appear large like a banner, there’s a simple trick.

Upload your image.
On the image link, you might notice a small text field on the end that says “TEXT?”.
Replace TEXT? with banner.
Save the changes.

That image will now appear in a large banner-style layout.

Use this sparingly. Banner images work best at the top of a post or to break sections, not everywhere and it would look like this.

Using quotes properly 💬

Quotes are meant to highlight something important, not decorate the whole post.

Use quotes to call out a key point, feedback, or a line you want people to notice.
They work well for summaries or emphasis.

It would look something like this.

Text types & formatting ✍️

Text types help structure your post and make it easier to read.

Use different heading sizes appropriately to separate sections and sub-sections.

Bigger headings for main sections, smaller ones as you go deeper.
Use paragraph text for normal explanations and details.

This keeps your post easy to scan and easy to follow.

Adding links 🔗

Links keep your post clean and readable when used properly.

Use the link button instead of pasting raw URLs.
Add clear text in the Text field so people know what they’re clicking.
Paste the actual link in the URL field.
The Title field is optional. It shows on hover and is useful for extra context.

This keeps your post looking neat and avoids long, messy links in the middle of sentences.
