I am curious about your thought guys. Recently I bought Iphone 13 Mini, also Samsung S series user over here. After some time I think this phone is the most underrated Iphone around.
As a normal user I got easy trough the day with battery, so no gaming and not too much Youtube and considering just 2438 mAh on 90% health think that is amazing. The form factor make it much more comfortable to use and it’s not bulky to carry around, assume that majority of people additionally buy protection mask which is adding to overall size and weight. Most of the time it’s if we follow the “trends” 6,5 inch screen smartphone plus protective case on that, which if we just go few years backwards it could be easy celled Phablet, not smartphone. As a tech enthusiast I am a bit overwhelmed to carry “brick” around all the time despite capabilities of phone.
Now as someone who would prefer to use less phone (more itentional) and focus more on “important” tasks I find this Iphone mini form factor with 5′4 inch screen really suit my needs, but again maybe I am in minority.
Then I though ok I would still like to use small android phone with latest specs, there is a few options. There is a Samsung Flip 5 Series or Motorola Razr 40, which can really save the space carrying the flip phone around. S24 which is 6.2 if you can consider it compact. Sony Xperia 5 V with 6′1 inch and Asus Zenfone 10 which is slightly below 6 inch screen.
Of course technology is expanding and parallelly the posibilities we can do with our phone, which I guess it make more naturally to screens go bigger to do with more ease all those demanding tasks but of course you guys knows market much better.
Still I get the impression if Nothing, for example drop compact phone it would be market shaker.
If we follow the narrative of Nothing brand think they could pull this so easy, and bring more heat onto brand.
I would really like to see cca. 5′2-5′4 full screen thin bezels Nothing Phone 2(z) (From A to Z) with Nothing aesthetics with maybe Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (or similar equivalent) 6GB - 8GB of Ram 3500mAh battery to adapt it somehow to go 1.5 days on one charge on 60Hz and 1 day on 120Hz screen. Some decent 32Mp camera with Night mode, 12Mp front with AI enhancing polishing for “acceptable” calls and selfies. Maybe even Camera collab with Leica, Hasselblad or Zeiss (dont even think about Polaroid). Put it for 345e (6+128GB) and 395e (8+256GB) and be ready to fill the demand on time.
You may say I’m a dreamer but I′m I the only one? 😉
