CMF Phone 1 Depth Sensor - See-through effect

So I got my CMF Phone 1 yesterday, started playing around with it, and installed GCam. From the GCam I was surprised that it gave me an option to switch to the other lens, as I thought it was just a depth sensor.

Turns out, it’s a monochrome sensor. And I kept thinking it looked weird, until I pointed it at my TV remote. That’s when I noticed it can see through things.

I then tried my black bin bag, my luggage divider, and my grey t shirt. With the CMF Phone 1’s “depth sensor” I can see the things I placed behind the items that normally I won’t be able to see.

I’m not sure if that is because the CMF Phone 1 used an infrared camera like the OnePlus 8 Pro from a few years ago did (that could also see through things). But what I do know is that it’s a major concern for a lot of people I’ve spoken to.

This does not work like its shown in his videos. The one on the CMF phone 1 is indeed an Infrared sensor which can show you the infrared light which cannot be seen with a naked eye, and that’s about it.

The see through effect does not work at all.

Edit - Saw your name and just realized that this is indeed your own channel. Good job on finding a way to access the secondary sensor. I also noticed that you have been spamming links to your own short on every X/twitter post related to this topic. Until and unless you share the same exact unmodified apk which you have used to get the see through effect working, I’d suggest everyone to not take this seriously.

Fractal It’s not “spamming” my own link. They stole my video from my YouTube without giving me credits. I’m asking for basic respect.

It works for me as shown… it is not fake, also confirmed by Nothing’s very own Akis. If you don’t believe it, fine. It’s whatever.

I also cannot share the apk due to privacy reasons. Thanks. In my second video, I showed that I just downloaded an apk, installed, and worked. That video was an unedited straight-out video. Maybe you have not seen.
