Nothing Phone 1: Glyph Questions

On my Phone 1, Settings > Glyph Interface > Charging Meter = “On”. But when I put the phone screen down to charge, the charge indicator lights up once then goes off. Isn’t the charging indicator supposed to remain on constantly? Did I miss something in the Settings?

Also when wireless charging with the phone face down, none of the glyph lights light up. Is this supposed to be the case? I know the wireless charging is working because if the screen is face up, it says it’s charging.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The charging indicator is not supposed to stay on constantly it only lights up once when you plug it in. After that, you need to wiggle the phone like this to see the charging indicator.

As for the wireless charging as far as I know the Glyph only lights up when you are reverse wireless charging.

FilipJacobson I have my Phone (1) facing down at all times, especially when charging. Just to do the little wiggle. 😛

Rudi Wouldn’t it be nice to have a feature to enable it at all times while charging? I feel the wiggle is nice to have as default, but I assume some forget the function even exists.

And would be great if the light lasted longer as sometimes need to wiggle a couple of times because I’m looking at my pc screen, wiggle to see battery level and when I look down to see it’s gone (I know it’s a scpecific situation, but it can improve productivity in my case); and for a more general situation: you wiggle to see battery level, you check it but you’re not sure if you saw it correctly, then you look again but it’s gone and need to wiggle again, this way you can make 2 quickly checks at 1 wiggle.

iCreSTZ totally agree! Maybe the user should be able to set the interval for how long it should remain lit in the settings.

Just my $0.02 but another idea for the glyph interface is to have it flash periodically when there are unread messages/notifications. I used to have a Siemens M55 yonks ago that would do this.

AdrianQ yeah I think that would be really nice! Similar to how notification LEDs work, flashing until you read/dismiss the notification. Would be cool to be able to enable that for certain apps that you don’t want to miss notifications for

AdrianQ I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this, was about to suggest it to the team. That would be great, sometimes I leave my desk and when I come back I don’t realise I have a notification until I flip the phone, so very helpful.
