The Pixel 5 had a 6″ display, which is pretty much what I want from a compact. I wouldn’t need to go much smaller than that. Give it a good Snapdragon 8 chipset, some decent lenses, RAM & storage (😜) and I may snap it up.

Have you got a timestamp for the relevant section? I disagree that the majority of people want bigger phones. Seems to me more people post wanting smaller phones. Perhaps it’s worth making a poll?
There is another video from MKBHD uploaded about 4 months ago, called ‘Small Phones are Dead and We Killed Them’. In it he says the Zenfone 9 (a compact phone) was his ‘Phone of the Year’ by “a landslide”, then goes on to talk about why Apple discontinued their Mini phones after the iPhone 12 Series. At 4:35 he provides a table that appears to show the Mini sold really badly, but the regular iPhone 12 sold better than the Pro and Pro Max. What I found interesting is that the iPhone 12 Mini was 5.42″ diagonally, and the regular iPhone was 6.06″, which is around the size I want from a modern compact phone. Zenfone 9 was just 5.9″ and is a good example of how functional and efficient a compact can be.
