Amazing opportunity! I’ve already been looking at buying a Bambu Lab printer and would love to win one (or even the voucher towards buying one myself) but I need to brush up on my 3d design skills 😅

Wish I learned how to use a 3d printer this sounds so fun, great way to bring community together for a fun little contest. And if you don’t win everyone sees ur design and can print it for themselves.

    Good luck everyone

This Community is full of creative talent, and I cannot wait to see what comes of this contest 🔥

All the best to the 3D modellers entering 👀

Even though I personally might not be able to participate, I can’t wait to see what the community comes up with, and maybe use it on my phone

    BE CAREFUL WITH CUSTOM SCREWS!!

I think it is a huge design mistake by nothing - you can literally screw into the display from the back! There is no metal or security mechanism - I designed a part and used a longer screw for a good fit and did break the display - not just the glas - the electronic, so nothing 😉 is working anymore and I had to replace it.

I didn’t use much pressure and force, I did screw up some electrical devices before. It could have been prevented by designing the phone - which is made for custom parts and screwing it up - by just don’t letting the screwhole going through.

So be careful and measure your screws exactly!

To avoid this, I’m using a supplier that provides CAD files for all their screws, washers etc so that I can see exactly how they fit into my design before printing. I’m also going to use screws that are ever so slightly shorter than I need to ensure that it doesn’t damage the display but still retains a strong fit.

I just got my new cmf phone. And I’m using it now. Just a bit disappointed coz there’s no freebies included.

What a great idea! I’ve had loads of fun prototyping and working out an efficient way of adding wireless charging to the phone. It’s been great to see what everyone else has been working on too. I’ve uploaded to Makerworld for anyone that fancies giving the design a go: https://makerworld.com/en/models/587194#profileId-508452

Good luck to all those that have submitted! The deadline has now passed and announcements should be on the 19th. I’ve seen some incredible entries from the community and i can’t wait to see which are chosen under each category; Best-looking, Functional, and Unexpected.

I was finally able to create a final version of my trading card/photo holder which i showed a prototype of on X when CMF Phone 1 was first announced. Its been an awesome journey to make it a reality.
