I’m honestly impressed about 778g and its GPU performance at emulating Windows games. To be clear, i’m not an active mobile games player, but i did try running Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone on Phone (1) when i got it to satisfy the experimental part of me. But i tried emulating old windows games just now and, again, was really impressed.
I chose GTA IV as first title to try, because i saw many GTA V emulating tests on smartphones, so i chose something easier to run, and this attempt was pretty succesful. I will try 2004-2008 games later, but my main goal is to run GTA V with “playable” performance.
I used Winlator with DXVK v2.3.1, turnip v24.1.0 and Wine v9.2. Game was configured at native 2440×1080 resolution with lowest settings possible. Here’s the video of gameplay:
The purple and green artifacts you see on the video is actually the game glitching some VFX due to emulating
A little update: i did modify LOD settings in game’s config file, and without screen recording, its getting up to 40 FPS but it is 30 most of the time which i would consider playable
I don’t think it’s an interesting discovery or maybe someone posted something like this here already, but i post it anyway 😃
