I didn’t set up Google assistant when first setting up the phone but want to now, the slider to make assistant available doesn’t move on the device options under ‘assistant’ app so I can’t register my voice etc. Any ideas?

Can you confirm that you have downloaded the Assistant app from the play store? I had the same issue, but it was because I didn’t realize I needed to install a separate app from google to active the feature!

Hey dude,
Just reset your Google App,
If google app was disabled first you need to enable it for using google assistant
