Bunny_21h I talked with service centre and they said to change display, but by changing display will this issue be fixed
Phone 2a - Display blunder black not black
Heera Yes, I’m also facing this issue. My brother has the CMF Phone 1, and its display is much better than the NP2a. The CMF’s display has excellent color accuracy, and there are no issues like a green pixelated screen or grey distortion, unlike my NP2a. I contacted Nothing’s service center, and they told me it’s a display issue with my phone. They said the entire display needs to be replaced, and I will be charged for it.
After updating to 3.0, the app lock pixelated screen issue has reduced but has not been completely resolved. I’ve noticed it changes every time. Sometimes, the whole screen turns black, and the fingerprint popup turns grey or green; other times, it turns light purple, and the background appears greenish.
It’s really frustrating to see that Nothing’s 15k phone has a better display than its 20k+ phone.
3.0 update is not that much level informant it’s a basic change in this Android 15 version not add any additional features and functions there change just in only basic functions not any improvements in this Android Update!!!
I have made a post regarding the issue, and what exactly causing it but guess what still nothing is silent lol.

SanthoshYellisetti why this happens, is nothing using cheaper amoled displays?
DebansuPanigrahi I don’t know, but give it a try, it might fix them. Did they said will they repair it for free ??
For what are we paying this much money to purchase nothing phones. Though they are using plastic for the phone frame. Can’t even they provide better displays and hardware components for these price. Nothing should respond to these display issues.
Its_anand01 Same here, I got cmf phone for my mum and it’s damn better when compared to phone 2a, which I’m using currently.
Bunny_21h they will diagnose and say
DebansuPanigrahi okay, if you happened to do that, just let me know once.
ankitvatsa I tagged carl with the attached proof video in twitter … later my post got deleted
+1 I am too facing the same issue. At videos the dark black areas are showing as small small patch grey colors
I have to repeat the same post again bcuz i dint get any reply from the team + they merged my last post.
I hope they don’t merge it again.
btw this time i have some some media, so you guys can differentiate between 2 displays, i will share it here.
So recently many people get to know that Phone 2a has a major display issue while watching Dark contents, it get pixelated colours palettes not only in the video itself but also in the UI. People should know what is the reason behind the problem, and what actually is the problem.
Mostly what people are facing is
Ghosting (blue trail)
Screen retention
Colour shift when FPSensor is active (green tint most likely)
Colour fade or pixelated colour (The actual problem)
The top 3 issues what I mentioned is amoled issue itself the tech has this problem itself, the green tint (when FPSensor active) can be fixed through OS updates, companies already did that.
The real exact issue is the 4th one, now let me elaborate what’s causing that issue,
When I noticed the issue on my device, at starting ignored that because I thought it may be a tone mapping issue or something, I asked nothing about the issue they mainly kept silent or they said it’s some kind of technology they used, when I asked why some phones aren’t getting this issue to nothing team they don’t give any answer. Then I started to collect samples and found that this issue is happening with a specific type of Display manufactured by BOE, and the other phones using VisionOX (vnx LCM) was completely fine. I have concluded the result after checking with 4 users, in which 3 users had BOE displays all of them had that problem. Now what’s the solution?
Solution
Idk what’s the solution, I even don’t know if it’s hardware issue or software.
At that time I posted that Disabling HDR fixes the issue but doesn’t seem right it’s still there but less.
I have few questions to ask from nothing team
What’s causing this issue?
If you already know the issue why is the BOE display still in the manufacturing lineup.
At the time of testing why used a display which is inferior then the vnx
If it’s a software issue when it gonna fix or if it’s hardware issue will nothing take responsibility to replace the BOE displays?
BOE display samples
vision display samples
comparison between both the displays side by side
………………………………………………………………………………………
Conclusion: what the youtubers got is the phone installed with visionox display for better colour accuracy but what consumer is getting is mostly boe displays, majority of the phone 2a has boe display, also it do not depends on region its universal problem.
Word! The display experience is awful. Almost all the 2a’s have these issues. The content watching experience is just clap. Tried to ignore but can’t. This issue is everywhere everytime. Every user is complaining about the same. Nothing should stop playing dumb and break the silence on this or else I’m not buying any nothing products in the future. How can they justify using BOE display knowing about all the problems??? Clownery at its peak.
How can I see if I have BOE or VNX display? I’m not affected by anything, except maybe the black not being dark black, but I’m not gaming, watching movies or stuff like this on my phone, I use it like a micro computer and actual phone

Its almost been a year since 2A launch, and still not a single word about display issues, i think its time to take this to big tech YouTubers, since “nothing” care so much about public eyes and they just delete whatever posts or tweets they don’t find pleasing to them, maybe if a big tech tuber investigate this and makes a video about it , it forces them to react.
